Hi, Can anyone tell me besides e-pay and the gun auctions, where I might find shellholders to fit my old Herters press? I need a #6.
Thanks for any help

If you don't find one there are companies that make adapters. Do a google search.

Herters shellholder adapter:

Avery53,

Somewhere in my stuff I have some Herters shell holders. I'll look and see what I have. May take a day or so as I have a lot of stuff. I recently made an adaptor for a friend's Herters press so he can use standard shell holders. It's not too big of a job if you have a friend that does machine work you may want to go that way. BTW, What case does a #6 Herters fit?

Avery53,

If I can find the box the shell holders are in there is a good chance that I have what you want, if I do, you can have it real cheap, as in pay the shipping. That said, you may want to deal with Richj regarding an adaptor as it will save you looking for any others you may need in the future.

Thanks, I have one of the adapters, and it works just fine, but I would like to find an original one for my press.
I should break down and buy a new press, but I'm kind of fond of this old boat anchor.
Thanks again

Likening the Herters model 3 to a boat anchor is a good comparison. As I type this I am sitting next to an old model 3 and on the opposing corner of the bench is a RCBS Rockchucker. The Model 3 definitly compares to many boat anchors in weight. The RCBS has a much better leverage principal going for it also. As soon as the fondness goes away I am going to use the old model three for a boat anchor.
