I just loaded 20 rounds of 308 Win with:

155 gr A-Max, 45.0 gr IMR 4895
CCI #200 LRP
OAL 2.800
LFCD

I didn't realize 7.62x51mm for gas guns and 308 Win were listed separately in Hornady's Manual.

Can they be used in my FAL?

Or should I just reserve them for my Ruger M77 Hawkeye Laminate Compact?

Which books do you have? Is the 47.0 gr load listed for 308 Win or for 7.62X51mm NATO?

In my opinion that is too much powder for a gas gun.

FAL's have an adjustable gas system but it is a lot easier on the gun to dial down the powder charge than the gas.

I have run my own tests in a M1a and a good load is a 155 gr Nosler with 42.5 grs IMR 4895. Out of a bolt gun this is just at 2700 fps. GI ball tested 100 fps faster, but so what, I am looking for accuracy and long life on the rifle and brass.
