| Norma has a long lasting rep for consistancy. I like nosler alot but they are at the mercy of whoever makes their brass. In this case I think it's federal. There have been a ton of reports on bigger nosler brass not being consistant. Since norma makes wby brass for them you can count on the reloading data being a bit more correct too. |

| Marc I typically buy Remington or Winchester brass first as it's a lot less costly.....yes the stuff comes with some dings and nicks but a trip through the die is worth the price difference..... When the decision comes between Norma and Nosler I go to Norma.....again often a bit less costly but with Weatherby, Norma is the original producer. I have no beef with Nosler except when it comes to brass they seem to think it's gold instead of brass.

I had heard somewhere that Norma was making Nosler brass. I bought some nosler 280rem brass to compare to my Norma 280. The Nosler had over 3grs less capacity. So to me it looks like someone else is making it.

I'm not sure about this but I was under the impression that Nosler was making their own brass the same as Hornady....(except for the frontier brand which is made by Winchester)

| I've made 300Wby from Win 300H&H also shot Rem/Wby factory brass. I haven't tried any Nolser or Hornady so far been happy with Rem brass.

| I got a 300 wby back in about 1967. Weatherby ammo was a buck a shot in those days and (in terms of "good old days" prices) it was real expensive! I got my hands on a bunch of 300 H&H from a store that was going out of business and I shot it through my Wby to fireform it. Worked really well but the newly formed brass was several grains less capacity than the one box of Wby ammo I got with the rifle. So if you are going the 300 H&H route, it is a real good idea to find the case capacity to avoid potential pressure problems. |

Isn't that a bit akin to making lead out of gold? It is 10-fold easier to find WBY brass compared to 300 H&H. If you have any 300 H&H W-W brass, I'll will trade you some WBY brass for it!!!
