Any word on Hornady Lever Revolution Bullets for reloaders? I don't see them available on the Hornady site? I'd like to try (reload) their 160gr for 30-30 and I'd like to try it on reduced reload for 30-06.

Someone with info??? or in the know?

I doubt you'll ever find any for the .30-06. THink about the name LEVERevolution, lol. hence Lever. Its purpose is for lever action rifles. We already have polymer tipped bullets for bolt rifles. But to answer your question, i haven't personally heard anything about their availabilty to the reloader. All i know is that when (if) they become available to us reloaders, then the .30-30 will have a chance at becoming a tack driver. The other day my friend's marlin 336a shot a one inch 3-shot group at 100 yards in a nice neat little triangle. FWIW, If you have the money you could just buy several boxes, pull the bullets, dump the powder and try your own. I've thought about that a few times...

dangit, i just caught something really stupid i said a while ago..I guess i SHOULD go to bed...30 caliber bullets, many different rounds..wow, i need to go to bed..well u just have fun tryin them in your .30-06..instead of editing that, i think i'll leave it up for others to see why you should go to bed when you start feelin like you need to.

LOL No problem beretta9289. This is my use for said bullet in 30-06: Simply making the O6 a little more versatile, as if it was not versatile enought, by fireing a reduced recoil bullet down range, which has an adaquate expansion to dispatch deer effectively. The reduction of recoil is of course to provide better marksmanship with the 06.

But wait! I have a pet load for the 30-06 in the hornady 150 gr. 3031 bullet charged with 32grs. reloader 7. It is in the 30-30 range as far as power, but what is best is that it is extremely accurate in my 06. ( I can reload target bullets and they don't do better!)

Downside, at 150 yds the 3031 bullet with this reduced load does not always expand ( mushroom) on deer. So perhaps the new hornady bullet ( lever Revolution bullet) has the down range expansion I need and the balistics of the 3031????

I am looking forward to trying the 325 grain in my 45/70. It should add 50 to 100 yards to what I call a 200 yard Elk rifle.
And I may try a box of the 165s in my 30/30
witch as far as I am concerned makes it more or less the equal of a 300 savage.
Just to brag for a minite, my marlin 45/70 shoots right around 1 inch at 100 yards with the 350 grain flatt nose honady. Thats with a 1X4 leupold scope.
My old 94 winchester 30/30 has a 1/4 minite click lyman peep. If I can keep them on a paper plate at 200 yards my old 30/30 gets a big promotion from plinker to deer rifle...tj3006

OK I did the obvious and called Hornady. If my understanding was correct they have so many orders for cartridges with the LR bullet that I was told to call back in January 07 concerning bullet availability for the reloader. Does anyone have a fast track to some of the hornady folks...I sure would like to give these bullets a try in my 06 this fall!

exit31...if you want to try them out, do as i suggested and buy about 2 boxes of the .30-30 shells and have someone pull the bullets for you, or just get yourself a bullet puller. than you can work up your own loads w/ your -06.
