I have pretty much narrowed my loading down to the following loads for my Hoffman 10.75x68

350 gr. flat nose Bridger bullet
Horneber brass
210 Fed
58 grs. of IMR-4198
Mv. 2420 FPS

400 gr. Woodleigh
Horneber brass
210 Fed primer
74 grs ww-748
MV 2208 FPS

Very satisfactory an not hot loads that equate to a bit better than the original loadings for the 404 Jefferys that made that old gun famous..

I would be interrested in results from any others who have used this old caliber or who have any data on reloading this gun..I got these loads from Rifle Magazine no.134, dated March-April, 1991 and this is the only data I have been able to find on this fine old cartridge.

Atkinson;
I have an old german 10,75x68 and have tryed one load and will try some new in -05.

The one I tryed is Vithavoury N140 67gr behind Woodleigh 347gr SN RN. I use RWS brass. I dont know the Vo. It's more like a beginner load(not hot). I have picked it up from the Norwegian loadmanual nr5(Ladeboken nr5).

The Sweed I bougth the rifle from used Hawks 325gr and 65gr of Normas 201 powder. Seating: 80,5mm.
These loads word well in my gun. Go 5%-10% low and try.

I have some loads that I could send you if you want?

Thanks 10.75, but I have those components and will give them a try..Since I am loading a bit hotter than the older recommended loads I am using the Woodleigh 400 gr. bullets recommended for the 404 Jefferys..I notice Woodeigh also makes a 350 gr. for the Jefferys and its probably a bit tougher than the 347 gr. bullet made for the 10.75x68, so I will give it a try as I am getting 404 velocities from my 10.75 and have used those bullets at the original 404 velocities on buffalo, so they should perform perfect at my 10.75 velocities.

We are having very good results on wild boar with the 230gr Impala and 62gr Vihta N 120(can also use same charge of AA 1680) for 2600+fps.
Very mild and jet powerful load. Accurate!

Hellmut Eller, not meaning to butt in here, however I'm grasping at straws to find loading data for the 10.75 X 65R for my double. Cartridges of the World shows next to nothing for it. I have worked up some loads but wonder what the original published data indicated for correct loading. Thanks, Mike
