55.0gr N140 with the 125gr NBT in my M77 MKII has been 1/2moa repeatably. Try from 53.0 and come up, you may find more than 1 load. Difficulty is inevitable Misery is optional

I had good results regarding precision with Alliant RL12 when still available. However, when loaded fast the 125 grain BT is no good at all for those little animals: You hit a shoulder bone and nearly blow them apart. I now use the 150 grain Partition which is tougher, flies nearly as flat and destroys much less meat.

I've used that bullet with success on whitetails. I'd recommend 150 or more but the 125s works for me. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." Duk, Meine freund.... I think you should reconsider the 125 grainers on deer... I have used them.... and they work fine on black tail... the secret is not pushing their velocity from the muzzle at over 2700 fps.....their core will hold together just fine....... actually that bullet at 2400 fps and zeroed 3.5 inches high at 100 yds, will be a tad high at 200 yds.... so I am sure it would be dead on at 200 metres on your side of the Atlantic! Guten Tag! seafire

Dear Seafire, when I was young and foolish (now, only the foolishness remains) I felt that urge to push bullets as fast as possible. For this reason I used the 125 grain BT bullets and as much Reloader RL12 powder as possible. I shot several roe deer and one whitetail with this load. It shoots flat and kills like Thor´s hammer but destroys too much meat, not so bad on the whitetail, by the way. I also found out that I do not have a real business to shoot at those little roe deer at 300 m or so. Few people have, I would say, it is also more challenging to get closer. The large number of loaded shells I still have (again blame a certain foolishness) I am burning on the range, shooting at the running boar mostly at the moment. Huge bangs and, at dawn, quite impressive muzzle flashes, in this regard quite a spectacular load, I would say... Recently I bought some more 125 grain bullets and plan to load up a more civilized load with either BD or N110. I will most likely have to lead a little further when shooting at the boar.
