My RCBS electronic scale would not properly calibrate. I sent just the scale back to them in Ororville, Ca on 10/09/03. Received a brand new scale with all the goodies (weights, power cord/transformer, pan) today (10/21).
RCBS really stands behind their equipment.

My biggest hangup with RCBS is that they never let me buy parts... moved a couple yrs ago and misplaced the shellholders for my trim pro, called to order some... no charge. Needed a couple shellholders for my comp dies... no charge. My brother gets the same deal... sorta makes a guy feel guilty, I know they want to provide great customer service and they do, but sheesh... lol
I bought a RCBS uniflow powder measure at a gun show for $50. Didn't think to ask what size metering chamber it had in it. Found that loading pistol bullets that the metering screw was almost all the way closed. I called RCBS to find out how much a small metering chamber would cost figuring it would be about $30. They sent it free. I wish all companies were like them. I broke the priming arm on my 30 year old Jr press. They sent me one free.
Same here. I was sizing some new Win 270 brass and this one case would't size (no flash hole), so stupid me, I force it and break the decapping pin and bend the threaded rod. One week to get it back free of charge. Wish everyone had that kind of service...

I had one of their older collet style trimmers that I wanted to upgrade to the new lever style. I sent it to them for the upgrade and they sent me a totally new trimmer. Free!
Love their stuff. Won't buy anything else.

sonofagun: Yes you can but, I would tell them a little bit more than giving them a list. Both RCBS and Hornady have been very good about replacing worn out parts, for me.

I have a RCBS electronic scale that's about 3 years old. It started to be a little inconsistent. They said it's out of waranty and needs to be sent back to Pact for rebuilding (new load cell.) After my previous experiences with them, this response kind of suprised me.
I guess that I am not as happy with RCBS as some of you are I will try to explain why. I received on of their reloading kits as a gift. I had it about a year before I used it. (I was living in an apartment and had no place to set it up) Anyway started reloading had loaded about 500 rounds (some 223 and 308) when the copper weight on the front of the beam on my 505 scale fell off. I called RCBS and explained the problem and they had me ship it back to the maker of the scale. This was in end of May. The company had the scale for 4 weeks and when it arrived it was still not correct. The beam on the scale was dragging on the indicator. Before I called RCBS I went to a local store to see if I was just being stupid and setting up the scale wrong not my luck. So I called RCBS again and explained the new problem. They gave me a new address to ship it too and the name of the person who they wanted it sent too. I was told that when they received the scale they would send me a refurbished unit as soon as they received it. I waited two weeks and called then. They said that they never received it. Now 6 weeks have gone by I can not reload with out a scale and now I have no scale. RCBS tells me to call back Monday (I feel like I am getting the runaround) well I decide to just buy a new scale. I call RCBS Monday (I have to give them credit they were always nice to talk to on the phone) still no scale the customer service person asks me of I insured it I did not they ask me what I want to do. I tell them if my scale ever shows up to just send it back. (I have it replaced and have no faith in ever getting it fixed if I have a problem with another one) The customer service person sounds upset at this and I explain that if you need to use a warranty this much the product is not worth having then they explain that a broken scale is no good to me. I agree and leave it at that. They call me the next day and offer me a new scale (I all ready have it replaced) I tell them no thanks just send back my scale they then tell me I am not letting then help me I revert to my previous stance in having lost faith in their scales. We end the conversation with me telling them to do what is right to them. About a week goes by and a new scale shows up at my door. This was very nice of them but 7 weeks to late. I need to contact them and see if they want it back I have no use for it.

I purchased an RCBS powder scale model 505 in the late 70's. The handle on the powder pan was about to break off and the plastic wheel on the front adjustment has been broken for a long time. I called RCBS to see if it was cost effective to replace and they said it was covered under warranty. I received the replacement parts in a few days. I was impressed!

I bought a RCBS Partner electronic scale (their cheap one) several years ago. Well low and behold, I wasn't careful while changing the 9-volt battery and broke one of the leads. I called RCBS and they told me to return it. Well I did and they sent me brand new scale. It's happened 3 more times since then and every time they've sent me a new one. With customer service like that, they've got themselves a customer for life.
