I have heard of people running a 30/40 Krag reramer into the Nef 30/30's. Should make a hell of a rifle.
The 220 gr bullets should kick enough to satisfy anyone.

I have had Savage 340s, Contenders and Handi Rifles in 30-30 and have always shot 125 - 130 gr bullets in them thinking that the expansion of these bullets ought to work well at 30-30 velocities. Always worked for me, but I've never thought of them as 300 yard guns. The energy just ain't there. To me the 30-30 and 7.62X39 are baisicaly the same class cartridge one with heavy bullets the other with light. No reason why you can't reverse the normal if they work in the gun.

Work up a load with the 130xlc. BAD nedicine for whitetails. And making that thing an ackley improved aint a bad idea either.
