What is a good bullet weight for this gun i don't know what the rate of twist is on t3 tikka lite.A powder choice is also welcome thanks for your help.

I just shot mine for the first time yesterday. 180 grain nosler BT, H4350, and WLRM primer. I was able to shoot 0.6" with the combination.

Several people have also tried Hunter powder with the 165 interbond and fed 215 primer with excellent results.

Those darn tikka's seem to like anything you feed them!!!!

The twist rate for the tikka is 1 in 11". a 1 in 11" will stabalize up to and including 200 grain bullets (some competitors are shooting 210 grain bullets out of a 1 in 11" twist and 300 WSM case). I rebarrelled a 300 win mag with a broughton 5C 1 in 11" twist, and it likes the 200 grain matchkings the best while the 180 accubonds (which I will use for hunting) are a close second. Use what shoots best. IMO, there is not a better twist rate than 1 in 11" for the 30 cal bullets. 180 and 165 grainers should shoot great. You don't need a 1 in 10 twist unless you go with the long bullets.

Each rifle will have it's own preference but the couple that friends of mine have shoot 165gr to 180gr bullets well.

I can guarantee one thing, the 180's WILL get your attention when you set the first one off. I have one and recoil is a real attention getter. 165's seem better though.

For 180's Magpro does real well, for the 165's I use RL19. The magpro gave me 2950 with the 180's. It was the only powder that got me up to that level. Funny thing though, the velocity was the same with the 165's with the same amount of magpro.
