I have some 210-gr. partitions I plan to load in my 338-06. I plan to try IMR4320 initially but I also plan to try RE 15. Does anyone have a load for either of these powders that you would like to share? Thanks. C-ROY

Croy, This is my favorite round & I think the 210gr NP is great in this cart. I have loaded alot of different powders, but RL15 shades 4320 a bit on accuracy. My favorite loads (remember to start low & work up): 53.5gr RL15 ww cases fed. 210M 54gr IMR4320 Both loads give me 2750fps from a 22 1/2" bbl. On a good day I can break the 1"MOA. I have taken a dozen or so big game animals from Duiker to bull elk & zebra. The bullet performs well out to 300+ yrds. I have only recovered a single 210NP from a Kudu bull. The shot was about 125yds taking him in the left front chest & stopping behind the rib cage on the right side. Perfect mushroom & weighed, I think, 168gr. I think velocity drops off too much for shots on large game past 300yds. I would opt for a .33 mag if I thought I needed to shoot farther. Good luck w/ your load dev. You'll love shooting this mild mannered thumper.

I am at home this evening and.....believe it or not, I have my press and all my data at my office (that's where I reload). I will gather some data on various loads and bullets and respond to your post. My rifle is a 24" barreled Weatherby Ultralite. I have reloaded the 210 Part, the 180 gr BT (very nice on Whitetail) and the 200 gr Hornady SP. Gary.

The 210 Partition MAY be the best bullet in the 338-06. I achieved over 2,750 fps in my 22" bbl'd 338-06 with H4350. I've also taken several bull elk with the 210 in a 338 Win Mag. It has worked from every angle. I lean (in theroy) towards the 225's... the 210, however, has worked so well I wonder about the validity of this prejudice! Brad

I know its only fifteen silly grains more, but I'm another one who thinks the 225's may be the optimal bullet for the .338-06. I haven't tried the 210's on game but many people have reported very good results with them. Surely report back on your results. RL15 should workd well. FN

I have used the 210 and 225 in the 338-06 and the 338...I prefer the 210 and if I want a bigger bullet I will go to the 250 or 300 gr. ------------------

GarBy, How do you like your Weatherby? If my budget had allowed it, I would have gotten one. I have a rebarreled mauser instead. My reloading buddy just received his Weatherby Ultralight in .308, so I will get to check it out thoroughly over the next few months. I'm hoping that Remington, Winchester or Ruger will produce one soon but I doubt it. We will probably see a .338 WSM before we see a factory .338-06 from one of these three. I may have to save up and get a Weatherby. I have loaded the 180 gr.BT's and gotten 1.1" groups w/Varget. What powder do you use with the 180s? I have some Speer & Hornady 200 gr. spitzers as well. Pass along the reloading data when you get a chance. Thanks. C-ROY

I like RL 15 in the 180 or 200 BT. I seem to get better SD with it and vel.is comparable. Both will shoot under MOA.I have a spread sheet of data for those interested, just let me know.
