It's long been a favorite of mine, I use it with H-414 and it fills the freezer with vennison over and over. It is not the most accurate bullet I have ever used but a bullet that preforms perfectly each and every time. Combines excellent expansion with penetration. Newer bullets have hit the market but this is the one by which they are measured by.

you will waste a large amount of time and money to end up back where you started. load it and shoot. it is accurate and devaststing. not much for meat loss and hell for strong.

I leave for my deer hunt this week and I have the 130 grain Nosler Partition loaded with Reloader 22 all ready to go in my 270 Win (Pre-64 M70).

My rifle is very accurate and shoots most loads (factory & handloads) very well.

Basically, I loaded 40 rounds last season for a deer hunt and ended up shooting a 350+ lbs black bear (weight estimated by California F&G officer) from approximately 75 yards. The bear was on all fours facing me and I was slightly uphill. The first shot hit exactly where I aimed which was just below his chin and bit to the right (my right, not his). The bullet exited by the bear's groin and back right thigh (due to the downward angle). Full penetration with lots of damage. The bear started moving around and kind of swatting at the wound. By doing this, he turned broadside and I placed a 2nd 130 grain Partition through both lungs, again with full penetration. The 2nd shot was maybe shot 15 to 20 seconds after the first.

The bear went down at the 2nd shot and was not more than 10 feet from where he was at the 1st shot.

I was very impressed with the performance of this bullet on game the size and build of a 350 lbs. black bear. Now, I was not intentionally hunting bear (I was deer hunting, but I always buy the $15 California bear tag) but the 270 sure did the job.

By the way, I leave on Thursday for another deer hunt in California's Eastern Sierra mountains. Last week, I took the .270 to the range with the remaining 38 rounds that I had loaded last year. I ran a couple of dry patches through the barrel to remove any excess oil. I proceeded to shoot 3 rounds that were all touching at 100 yards an inch and a half high and dead center of the bullseye. I then shot two more rounds at 200 yards and they were right on the bullseye and about an inch apart.

After those 5 shots, I packed the 270 away with the remaining 33 rounds and I am ready to go.

This ammo chronographed at an average of 3,125 fps .

I have a lot of rifles and calibers to choose from, but based upon the above performance, the 270 is what I grab.

Good luck.

Tim

Try it with some or any of the following-
IMR-4064,IMR-4831,H-414,and RL-19.

Try the Partition out for yourself I think you will like it.

I haved used the Nolser Partition in several calibers and weights, you may another Bullet that will shoot it in your rifle, but you never find one that will out perform it on Game.

Guys

I dont have a .270.

I do however have a box of 130 grain partitions that I am willing to give to the first person that guesses the closest to the day of the month that I was born. I will send them to you and if you want you can send me the postage. I dont foresee a need for them and they are going to waste on my bench.
