I've got a Gr.III BAR in '06 and it won't shoot 150's very well at all, it's very good with 180 gr. SST's though. My groups with 150's weren't as bad as yours but 2-3" range was bad enough.

I am just trying to advose a friend with less reloading experience than me, who is undertaking this load development project for one of his other friends.

The owner of the gun is dead-set on 150 BT's, for the smallish whitetails of South alabama.

We have access to most any commercial powder.

Despite repeated warnings to the contrary, the owner tried Hornady Light Magnums (bullet weight unknown) in the gun, and said they shot "good" (no group measurement).
