Is it the cat's meow? I see that it is 17.69 per lb for N310, and AA#2 is only 12.25 from the same dealer ( www.powdervalleyinc.com ). Is it really worth the difference, or will AA, Hodgdon, or IMR work just as well?

Seems I recall reading somewhere that Wolf or someone else similar uses the VV powder in their mass production bullets?

I think it is an awesome powder. Excellent results in everything I've tried. Its quickly become "the powder" to use by the 6PPC/6BR benchrest boys (I use it work 6PPC also). My second favorite is Benchmark. I've heard excellent things about Varget also.

I love VN340 in My 40S&W and .38...

My results with VN560 were mixed...average to worse than...and it was only available in 2 lb cans (rifle powders only, pistol are 1 lb).

Cat's meow...I don't know, but I keep going back for more VN340. It has been better than H. Universal, Unique, and several others that elude me thus far...but I never tried any of the AA pistol powders.

Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.

I neglected to mention that I was refering to N-133, which is not what you were asking about, so please feel free to ignore my post. Smiler

Well, I think VihtaVouri may be the best I've ever used. I started with VV550 and 560 and got my best ever groups in my 6.5x55. Then I started using VV133 in my .222Rem. and .222Rem.Mag. I'm impressed. The affiliated Lapua Scenar bullets are nothing to sneeze at either. These people are doing something right. That's for sure. Best wishes.

I've had excellent results with N550 and n560.

If these two powders were readily available in the middle of no-where (this isn't the end of the earth but you CAN see it from here) jump they would be my first choice.

N550 for light for caliber bullets or medium capacity cases. (7mm-08/140gr bullets, 8x57/180gr bullets)

N560 for the big stuff. (280/140gr bullets, 8mm-06 A.I. or 8x68S/200gr bullets)

Kory,

Far from ignore it, I appreciate the input. I wasn't referring to a specific VV # when I posted, I just pulled one off a website for a reference to price. I don't know enough about them yet to know the difference in numbers, but I will primarily be loading pistol right now.

Not many replies, but it seems that those of you using it like it a lot. Tells me I probably can't go wrong with paying ~ $5 more per pound to go BOOM!

Thanks fellas!

I use N560 in 308Norma,30.06,and 338WM.It has lots of muzzle flash,so don't use it in tall dry grass.I have found it needs a minimium pressure to be consistant.
