Hello,

Is there someplace online to find SAAMI spec headspace dimensions for various cartridges? I checked the SAAMI site, and if they are there, its hidden.

Thanks,

Monte

"Handloading" by William C. Davis and the NRA is out of print and sold out everywhere on the internet, but it has the SAAMI cartridge and chamber drawings [with tolerances] up to 1980.

When I see copies of the book for $2~$10 at gunshows, I buy it to hand out to friends.

The same information from SAAMI would cost $65

Turns out that the book I was looking at the other night at Wilson Tool & Die was a SAAMI spec book. Gave a dimension, but not a tolerance. Got an idea of the tolerance from looking at the dimensions Forster lists online for their Go/No-Go/Field gauges (1.574", 1.579", and 1.583" respectively for .22-250 Rem) . Now I have some other concerns, mainly that I have a gun that the bolt closes on a No-Go gauge, and the brass sticks out of a case headspace gauge from Wilson, but when I stick the case in my Stoney Point Headspace Comparator w/ the appropriate insert, it is at least 10 thousandths shy of what the other indications show it should be. I'm beginning to suspect the insert for the Headspace comparator is the guilty party here.

Thanks,

Monte
