Anyone have any load data for the 458win using imr 4320? Specifically with a 450gr Barnes x bullet. Doesn't seem to be too many loads out there for the 458. Most loads I've found are for 510gr winchester soft point. Need some info to tide me over till I can find a jug of aa2230.

Tac, X-terminator or IMR 8208 XBR are decent alternatives to AA-2230 (my personal favorite too). IMR 8208 is actually about as good or an equal to AA-2230 in the .458 WM.

Hey Joe,

Doc Lane turned me on to AA2230 and I've never looked elsewhere. Accuracy is superb, terminal performance the same. redouble your efforts man, just get the AA2230.

Years ago the 458win made a popular discussion on AR.
AA2230 is by far the best powder. It can give Lott like performance with no pressure issues-it is accurate too.

After some debating that's what I decided on. Shot a couple yesterday and they went boom without issue. No chrono but judging by the damage done to the tree behind my range and the tree behind it I'd say it was getting along fairly well Big Grin
