I posted this question in another forum accidentely so here it is again, I am working with a 7mm08 AI hunting chamber on a 700 trued action with a pac-nor 5 groove 10 twist finished at 24", I plan to use re15 powder with 140 class bullets, could I get some start points and near max loads that you may be using? thanks, Ron Tilley

I don't shoot the AI but I shoot the 7mm08 with 44.5 gr of Varget and 140TSXs and I can go 2 more gr before I see any pressure sign such as flattened primer or crater. I have a 1x9 twist and 20" barrel and get 2840 fps.

My 7-08AI uses a 22" 1:11 twist Shilen SS Match barrel. My rifle shoots .5" groups with 50.0gr +/- .5gr of IMR4350, IMR4831, & H380. I think RL-15 is a little too fast for your needs. RL-19 gives great velocity, but doesn't group as well. My fastest load was with H414 at 3075fps (not bad from a 22" barrel) without flat primers or difficult bolt lift, but backing of the load to just under 3000fps gave better accuracy. My current hunting load uses Winchester .308 brass necked to 7mm with Federal 210 primers (the brass was more uniform than any of the 7-08 brass I've tried), 50.2gr of IMR4831, Nosler Partitions seated to 2.825" OAL for 2945fps average. That load groups under .5" with my rifle. Granted, it won't make a deer any deader than a 30-30 that groups 2", but it's my baby.
