Anybody have any experience with one? Will it work as advertised? Is there a better unit available? Any info will be appreciated.

I don't have one myself, but my brother, who belongs to a benchrest club, has one. He likes it and gives it good value for the price. There is a bit more setup and "technique" to get consistant results on the RCBS tool compared to the $150 NECO tool, or the $80 Sinclair tool. FWIW, they say to use a rubber-band that's stretched over a 6" piece of wood, like a ruler, to roll the case, eliminates you making false readings when you start & stop when using your fingers to rotate the case.

At least when he got "repeat & consistent" results with his RCBS tool and then checked them on his friend's, he got the same results when tested on that pricey NECO tool.

I face the same dilemma you're in, as www.midwayuse.com has the RCBS gauge on sale right now for just over $50. But before you buy, check out the Sinclair gauge @ [url]sinclairintl.com[/i]. Get their catalog too, everything for the precision reloader. Their Imperial sizing wax is phenomenal and overall, their prices are lower than some other jobbers out there.

Good luck and tight groups !!

Remmag/ I have one and it works well esp. for the money....I also have a older Sinclair that has the added case neck variance tool and keep it setup for that use and use the RCBS for bullet and case neck runout.....as the other post states the NECO is a great tool but at nearly 4x the cost!the RCBS is a real decent tool exp. for the money....it only takes a few cases to learn the tricks of getting consistant measurements and keep the Vee blocks wiped clean and wipe the outside of the case and inside of the neck if you are going to measure it....the rubber band case turner is a good idea.....WARNING..actual measurements of your dies and case specs will drive you crazy or in some cases...mine..craizer and require all kinds of expensive soultions...but it is so much fun....lol...good luck and good shooting!!!

I also have a Casemaster. Good value for the money. Easy to use and consistent results. I'm very happy with it.

I have an older Sinclair with the delrin v-blocks. It works very well if you keep the blocks clean, but I am going to buy the NEW Sinclair checker with the stainless steel ball bearings. That's got to be the ultimate in smoothness and no drag on the case. They all work and do a good job, just depends on how deep you pockets go.

I also have a Casemaster. Good product for the money. Just used it to check runout on the shaft that holds the expander ball in the die. The Casemaster has more uses than just checking cases.

I also have a Case Master, and agree that it's a good tool for the money. I don't use it that much anymore, I just had to have one for curiosity. It's pretty easy to use, but I found myself going nuts over things that really aren't that important. My opinion, anyway. I think the money's better spent on components.

REMMAG,
Now your going to get me to admit that I'm lazy. I have a case master and use it a great deal. I like it! Now comes the lazy part. My only criticism of the case master was that every time you wanted to change functions it was necessary to move the gauge. Since I like to make measurements on each case, changeing the gauge was not feasible, due to my being lazy, I called RCBS and ordered a second gauge, Now I may have the only Case mater in captivity with two gauges on it. The nice thing is I have them setup just the way I want them, and I don't have to change a thing. Hope that this is of some help.
