I always felt that the larger and heavier .338 bullets may be a little too heavy for the Federal round. Barnes has a 160 grain TSX bullet and I finally spent a sizable amount of cash for 50 bullets ($45). I am having a hard trime finding any data for this bullet. Barnes has only two listings for RL7 and AA2230. I am familiar with the reloader powders, but not the AA2230 powder. I have tried to find some of the RL7 in my local area, but to no avail. i havde found some data on IMR 3031, Win 748 and H322. the H322 has a respectable performance compared to the other two powders. Has anyone found any other data or worked up some loads using other powders? Thanks!!!!!

Rafsob, I'll have to look into my load notes. I believe I was using IMR4198 and AA2015BR under the 160TTSX in my 338 Fed. Accuracy was sub MOA in my t3. If I recall, it was giving around 2700fps tops w/ those two powders. Plan to continue testing, but it's getting alittle warm around here lately. That particular rifle gives around 2550-2600 with 200 NBTs and 200 Hdy SPILFBs over AA2015BR or H4895 with acceptable accuracy. I was hoping to push the 160TTSXs to around 2800, but haven't thus far. I need to do some wet phone book test with the 160TTSXs at lower MVs to see how they perform. It would be interesting to see the expansion at 200 and 300. I also need to buy some TAC, I've heard it is a good powder in the 338 Fed. Have a good one, Reloader
