I got these in with a bunch of other stuff in trade and don't know what they fit. I know the two rods are primer seaters but not sure what the die is for or the piece that goes in a shell holder on the ram. Can someone enlighten me on what they are used for. I'm thinking they are RCBS for some reason. Thanks for any info.

Steve..........

That is a ram-prime system, I think. Shellholder goes on die, seating rod in the other thing on the ram. I've heard you get a better "feel" of the priming on the up-stroke with one of those then on the down-stroke of standard prime on the press systems.

So it all works together, I tried it on my Lee Classic Cast press and it works like you said.

Steve.........

P.S.

I looked on Midway USA (after I knew what the unit is called) and it is the RCBS Ram Prime System. I have never used or had one myself. Thanks for the info.

Mine like that is RCBS. They do work good if a bit slow and I agree, you do have a better feel than the older "up-stroke" type. Keep your hands clean, as in no lube on your fingers. It's easy to contaminate the primer using that seating method.

The neat thing about this type of primer seater is you can adjust the seating depth of the primer AND you can prime the larger big bore cases if you have a shell holder to fit the case like the 50-140 or Rigby and larger cases...

Just TRY to prime a Rigby case with a Lee auto prime...I had to widen the case hole and an RCBS shell holder(turned off the part that goes in the ram) to get my Lee to work...that's after I ordered a ram priming system from Midway.

It works great for 12 and 20 ga brass/plastic shot shells also, with the right shell holder from CH4D.
