My powder and primers came today, form Natchez. Thing is, it was only supposed to be two boxes. Instead I got three. All with my name and address on them. After U.P.S. left I opened the smallest box first. It was a set of 30mm Redfield rings, and a one piece base for a Sako, which came to $56. Thing is I didn't order these. And didn't want to be charged for them. Went ahead and opened the other two boxes, to check and make sure the stuff I did order was complete, and it was all there. Thought maybe the rings and base was a free gift, there was two invoices, but when I went back and checked the other invoice, it said it was for a guy in Albany, GA. I called Natchez, and the guy it was invoiced to. Natchez is going to have U.P.S. pick it back up (Some Time) so I repackaged it, and it sits on the table. No Problem to me.

Thing is Natchez's invoice has the guy's Name, Address, Phone Number, Full Credit Card Number, and the Expiration Date on it. I've had some of my packages go to the wrong address before, always ending OK. Who gives these people the right to put this kind of information on an invoice inside the package? Every time I complain, they just say its inside the package, so nobody has access to it. Well this package was addressed to me, and it wasn't until I opened the box, and checked the invoice that I found out it was for some one else.

Lock, Stock, & Barrel has this same policy, as I imagine do others. Worry's me. I'm going to start making clear when ordering that the invoice is to be mailed to me, and that credit card information be left off, or else no order.

The good news is that 99.9% of the shooting public are as honest as the day is long. That is why this probably isn't a problem.

As Robt Heinlein wrote years ago, "An armed society is a polite society." It is also remarkably honest. Ku-dude

I do a lot of mail order buying too, and it reminds me of flying..........

Hours and days of bordom, with seconds of sheer terror inserted to keep me awake.

If you fly or buy mail order, you will have tales to tell.

Like flying, 99.9 % of the time all goes well, it is the .1 % that scares me.

I do a lot of internet orders and I don't recall ever seeing the entire credit card number on an invoice. It was always listed like this XXXX XXXX XXXX 7346 and I consider it to be safe.

HI

I always asks the companys to send the invoice in a envelope to me and not with the stuff [Big Grin] . Since Sweden is a socialist country in some peoples eyes. We have to pay 25% VAT on the total amount including the freight. Blood suckers [Mad] [Mad]

I don't like when companys play around with invoices and creditcard numbers too much

DaveC, I think most places, or atleast those places that have really delved into security features for their customers, do post just the last four. But if you have ordered from Natchez, check all the way to the bottom of your invoice, and you'll see your entire credit card number along with expiration date, then quanity ordered, and invoice total. Might be printed over the writting at the bottom of the page.

Lock, Stock, & Barrel puts it in plan view, but doesn't give expiration date.

Sinclair's attaches your credit card reciept to the back of the invoice, an puts it in the package also.

Stoney point gives all information in plain view. A few even say whether it's Master Card, or Visa.

In fact of all the places I've purchased through, only American Rifles, Brownell's, Midway, and Oehlers doesn't put any credit card info on their invoices.

Check your reciepts and see what you find, I don't mind just the last four either!

JOHAN: I am from CZ and it is almost same....VAT 22%, that is horrible, what is possible to do is: if you have friend in US, pay it with your creditcard and as a shipping address write his address, he can send it to you and you save money I do not know how it is in Sweden, but in our country when you declare it as a present and there is no invoice there is no VAT....:-))

Try Midsouth Shooters. They don't have the card #'s on their invoices and don't hold you up on shipping. Prices are very competetive.
