Has anyone had the chance to use Reddding's new Model 2400 case trimmer? Link to Redding's description I know $120 is a lot to spend on a trimmer. However, I am having to replace most of my reloading equipment due to hurricane Katrina. Being that I started out reloading years ago when I was on a budget, I had to make do with so-so equipment. Now I see this as an opporunity to get "the good stuff". I've used a Wilson trimmer before too, but the Redding seems a little easier to work. Also, I won't have to buy caseholders for each of my different calibers . Wilson trimmer:

i really like lymans the best - universal shell holder & you can adapt the handle to use a drill instead of turning it by hand

The REdding looks like a cross between the Lyman and Wilson. I have the old Lyman and just upgraded to the Wilson with the mic and love it. I can see you still have to deal with pilots on the Redding but I like the Mic feature on it. Either choice should serve you well. Have fun getting back into the loading business.

I have used the Lyman universal trimmer for years, but I think the Wilson is far superior. Last fall I bought RCBS's power trimmer and their case mate prep center. You know, I really like 'em. Both make fast work of what would otherwise be a chore and are far easier to set up than the Gracy,Giard,Dillon units.

The only downside to the Wilson is buying the bushings for each caliber you need but it is a very accurate and faster than I thought. Once you dial that length in you are good to go. Want to change calibers just turn the dial and take off again.

I guess I'm "old school", but I have been using the RCBS power trimmer for about fifteen years now, and it still runs as new. Finally had to replace the cutter awhile back... The only issue I have are the shell plates, and the inability to fit the 505 Gibbs case in one. Probably not an issue for normal people. Rich
