Does anyone here load to this level? I know I can get there with RL-15, BL-(C)2, and probably Ramshot Big Game but I'm just wondering if there are folks here who load it to that level. Thanks.

Wisman,

I've pushed the 250 Accubond to 2636 fps, 6 Es and 2 Sd with 60.5 gr of Varget in my 24" Pacnor. 3-shot group was a huge 1.2".

Backing off to 60 gr netted me 2616 fps, 8 ES, 4 SD and .81" 3-shot group.

Hey, thanks, GSSP, that looks promising. 2,600 fps would be nipping on the heals of a 180 gr. 30-06 bullet in terms of trajectory, and that ain't shabby...

62.5 of 2208 (Varget) got the 250 Accubond to an accurate 2,642 fps in the 25" barrel of my 9.3x62. This was in Lapua brass.

Edit: 59 grains of RE-15 got to an accurate 2,510 fps in my rifle. I find RE-15 susceptable to temperature increases with corresponding increase in pressure.

I load RL15 under both 250 grs TSX and AccuBonds to get just about 2600 fps. Works very well. I took the ammo to Africa, and experienced no pressure problems in the hot conditions.

As you mention, this takes the 9.3x62 very close to (factory) .30-06/180 grs ballistics. Very useful - I took a waterbuck at 300 yds with this load.

In my 9.3x62 I've found my most accurate load with the 250 Accubond bullets at 2550 fps.

Running the numbers, that is only 3/4" difference at 300 and 1.0" at 400 yards, both with the 200 yard true/tested zero I have on my rifle and this load.

If it ever thaws out here I'm going to take these loads to my friends range and test/true them out to 400 yards for actual performance data.

My next bullet for testing was the TSX, but with the accuracy and ballistics of this load, I decided to stop here. No need for another.

Good luck.

Ya know, with the 1800 fps minimum speed necessary for reliable opening and the modern BDC reticles and CDS turrets, the 250 AB at these speeds can become quite the rifle for a bit longer shots if need be.

in a 20" barreled CZ550 i get about a 100fps less than that with Ramshot Big Game and the 250gr TSX. usually groups in the 1" range if i do my part.
