I want to thank everyone for their participation in my thread. I picked up some valuable information.

Seems like there is always a quest for the perfect bullet. I have purchased some InterBonds and I intend to use them in .300 WSM. For Texas whitetails it looks to be a good choice and it looks like the bullet is gyroscopically sound and groups well. While I have some Barnes XLC's and Swift Scirroco's; I have never been able to get them to group, which seems to be a pretty common complaint.

What lead to the thread to begin with is that I have been known to shoot light-weight bullets out of my .300 WBY at pretty high velocities, i.e. 3600 f.p.s. plus. I can tell you from personal experience, that really tough, custom made bullets, that group well, driven at extreme velocities, will not expand enough to create a wound channel for a quick, humane harvest. I then went to the other end of the spectrum and used Nosler Ballistic Tips. BT's would group to beat the band, but driven at those velocities, would not exit. Now, I will concede, the deer shot with BT's never left their tracks and their chest cavities looked like someone turned a Cuisinart loose inside. So, I have to give BT's their due in terms of quick, humane dispatch. However, I do subscribe to the "complete penetration" school of thought.

Hence, I might even try InterBonds in my .300 RUM and .300 WBY. Sounds like a good solid choice for deer sized game.

In addition, I have been shooting Federal Premium Safari in my .300 RUM for the last three years. These have 180 gr. Trophy Bonded Bear Claws and they shoot sub .5 MOA in my rifle. I have been favorably impressed with these bullets as a premium, controlled expansion bullet that groups well and does it's business quickly.

I think I will save my North Forks and Hawks (still have some from their Wyoming days) for something bigger, say elk.

Again thanks and Happy Holidays to everyone.
