I like the 150grn PP at about 2800fps for 100-175lb pigs and deer. It opens fast and does it's job even if I don't hit bones. Does anyone know if the 180grn PP will open as fast at 2850-2950fps? Again, thanks for your opinion, dp <
the PP 150-grainer 7mm bullet used in winchester's factory 7mm remington magnum is too fragile for me. blew a smallish deer just about in half at a sub-50-yard shot. will go with a heavier bullet in that chambering next deer season. the .277 version in 130 grains is on the edge off too fragile in the .270 but i can't knock success. it is slap deadly from the .270 at those velocities (what? 3,000 fps at the muzzle?), shot or long. so i'd say your velocity range is just about right.
