Got there early at 9am, there was about 300 people in line in front of me waiting to get in. Then another 200 people behind me when I walked thru the door 25 minutes later.

I went there to look for primers and powder for my 1911's. I walked past every booth looking for primers, not stopping to talk to anyone or to check out the guns.

I found one guy in the back corner he had three hundered Federal primers for $4.50 a hundred. I took them immediately, while I was paying there must of been three guys behind me asking for primers.

Then I found the only other guy that had primers (Winchester), he had three cases. He was selling them for $50 a box of 1000ea. I only purchased 1000 and figured this will hold me over for a year, an hopefully I can get some later at the regular price. If shooting guns remains an expensive hobby I will find another hobby. There are plenty of things to do in Vegas besides reload and shoot.

Nobody had any powder what so ever of any kind. There was one guy that was selling CCI blazer 50rd boxes of ammo for $40 a box. And there was a looooong line of people waiting to buy some. That guy made a killing at $800 for a case of 1000 rounds. I saw that he had about 12 cases of CCI ammo behind his table.

Good luck to everyone out there.

Although I personally am not affected, it sure is a sorry state of affairs. Frownerroger

Megawatt, There are many ways to skin a cat... going to these trash shows isn't one of them. Powder is basically quite readily available online, and primers will be soon enough. There are many signs that the industry is catching up in production and these dealers which are making their killings , well only if you buy into the BS.

Good luck and good shooting.

I already placed my order with Cabelas for powder they have listed as in stock. It would of been nice not to have to pay the haz mat fee when ordering online so I went to the gun show.

I also figure the supply will catch up, that is why I only purchased one brick of 1000 primers instead of making a "fear" purchase of never seeing another avaliable primer in my lifetime. And if the supply never catches up, thats ok also. I have motorcycle racing and photography to keep me busy.

megawatt ; When ordering powder or primers ( When available ) it's best to purchase a quantity

so as to offset Haz Mat fees . I deal with Powder Valley http://www.powdervalleyinc.com/

Been real good folks to deal with . 40-50 lb. combined box for single Haz Mat fee .

Generally less expensive then other retailers . thumb

Seems surprising doesn't it , that they're laying off people and yet primers are still scarce ??.

I wonder if Jeffeosso

knows about this ?. He promised me Everything would be back in stock in August or Sept !.
