Hi All! Just a quick note. Awhilr back a guy came into the shop and was watching me clean brass preparitory to making some new cases for my 25 Souper. I make this from L.C. [WRA] brass for just plinking. The good stuff I use the NM stuff. Anyway, this WRA stuff dates back to Nam 1967 etc. It NEEDS cleaning so I use Kitty Litter as the first step and then corn cob it. This guy asks what I was using and I [stupidly] pointed to my cats litter box and said "cat litter". Off he went. The next thing I know I am being bad-mouthed and called him. He tells me his wife and kids are POed and the house is a mess. I guess I should have told him to use New- UNUSED Kitty Litter!!! Whoda thunk!!!! Aloha, Mark[ in Or]

You coulda been using kitty litter as flux for casting. I don't even wanna think what used kitty litter would smell like for that.

Don't forget the CLAY type kitty litter is the BEST bullet stopper and test media out there. I have yet to find a round that will penetrate a foot of the stuff, including the 458 Win Mag and the 375 RUM.

I use cheap, clean kitty litter in my sandbags.(Shot Bags)When I go shooting or when I need to sight in a rifle. Lots lighter than sand and very stable. And when the bags get to black from shooting handguns over them the cat gets the litter and I get a new bag. Works well as a shoulder bag when shooting really big bores at high velocity.
