Ricciardelli- great group!! I also have a model 62 but have not shot a group smaller than 2 in.I am just starting to reload and have visted your site. The Iver Johnson is semi-auto and I have heard they are not very accurate.Any suggestions to improve group size. The trigger is not too good.

That certainly is a great group, and something to strive for. However I think it's fair to say for the sake of newer shooters as well as us old farts, that that certainly isn't a representative group for your typical .30 carbine. We all talk about 1 inch groups like with out that magic number the we might as well hang it up, but I personally feel hunting accuracy, is probably something other than that for most of us-- even those who shoot a lot. A 2inch rifle that's a 150 yard caliber works fine, what it won't do a guy won't miss. A .22-250 that shoots 2 inchs I'd sell to my brother-in-law. ricciardelli--You don't want to sell that one do ya?---Shoot Safe---montdoug

Having had at least a dozen carbines, anything that can be CALLED a group, at 100 yards, is a good group... Generally I see 2", some lots better, some so bad that I felt bad about selling them....

I had one that would put 10 on an 8" target at 200... and ONLY one, offhand
