The cost of a decent amount of game fence wire is more than the land per acre?? Any suggestions on cheaper or alternatives,I will be using water as a natural barrier in some areas.

Don't know about your area, but around the ranch I hunt in S. Tx they quote a price of about $9000 per mile for 8' game fencing. And, that is using illegal labor, not paying much. An old pilot, not a bold pilot, aka "the pig murdering fool"

Do yourself a favor and use staytite wire. More expensive at about $1/foot, but dang-well worth the money. I would expect to pay $15,000/mile if it is flat and not too rocky. Expect more if conditions are tough. $3.25-$4/ft is a normal turnkey range (dozer work, pipe, wire, labor, etc). Add $ for gates, watergaps, too many corners etc.
