I believe that I've come as close to heaven as it possible in this life. A friend that works for the county ended up with all the old computers when the county switched to new ones. What do you do with a truckload of old computers?? RIFLE RANGE Out we go Man on man remember all the times when the damn thing tells you that you can't to this or can't do that, and you wanted to tell it to do it or else. Or else just happened. Just imagine the joy oflining up a 50 yard wide backstop with computer moniters, drives printers etc. Then to even make better, imagine that another friend is into class 3 stuff. I mean there isn't anything better than lining a thompson or sten gun up on a bunch of disc drives and letting go. Almost nothing, step up a notch and set out 30 or 40 moniters witha 1917 browing belt fed. THEN the piece" de resistance - Yup old ma deuce. 50 caliber rounds and computers have just met, OUTSTANDING. this is about as good as it gets, unless the computers were crats. I believe I even saw the light at the end of the tunnel, Or maybe it was the muzzle flash of old ma deuce.

Butch, that's quite a tale! Or tail... bewilderedI get 'em confused sometimes. Sure did sound like fun though, I hate computers almost as much as crats, and that's a fact! Wink

Oh God! My trigger finger won't stop quivering. I have been making my living with stinking computers for 40 years. I have wanted to pull out a 1911 and shoot a computer so often! I envy your opportunity to get revenge on them damn one eyed monsters. I hope Bill Gates felt your fury. He is responsible for more computer induced agony than anyone on earth! Someday his company may just finally write a real operating system! Until then, line up the old PC's and let the lead fly! Damn, that would have been better than a herd of cats! I better go calm down now. They may want to put me back in the funny white jacket and give me pills that make me fuzzy headed. Shooting computers, what a high. In my next life I want to be the power line spike from hell. I'll get them computers yet .....

Butch might be full of fun but he ain''t to swift. You guys got any idea how much gold and platinum is in a computer. Not the moniters or keyboards although there is some in the connectors. I got a trailer full of them awaiting reduction and salvaging! derf

Seems like I read a report from a recycler that a 40 ton truckload of scrap circuit boards yielded a chunk of gold the size of an American penny and a couple of troy oz. of silver. The money was made in the disposal fees and the recycled lead/tin solder. Do you cast your own boolits? What could be better than using computer lead as a basis for crat loads?

Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.

OEH, are you using Mozilla's firefox and/or Thunderbird by any chance? It is, within the context of narrow application, superior to Billy's IE. And it's free online. Good browser w/o all the security risks and patchwork updates.

If you dug a hole under them and put an ounce of black powder in it, and a metal plate over the powder, would it launch a monitor high enough to get a shot or two at it with a 12 guage?

for every hour in front of the computer you should have 3 hours outside

Digital Dan,

For well over a decade I have been a Unix system administrator. I use Linux on PC's and also use Mozilla on MicroCrap OS's as IE is a security hole the size of Monica L's mouth. I go to Source Forge for my application software and heartily support the Open Software Foundation. Microsoft hires the best and brightest out of school which means little in that they were taught by people unable to make it on the outside. They also have no experience and are doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past. Whenever MicroCrap gets a sense of responsibililty and decides to write an operating system rather than a program loader, then I may regain some respect for them. I have spent countless hours of my life fixing MicroCrap software on PC's. Most of the time I wonder why in the hell they did something they way they chose to. I also have zero respect for a company that allows cutsy crap in their software. I'd fire most of the punks that work for them and the managers that tolerate the juvenile attitudes. Maybe I am giving the wrong impression of my feelings about Microcrap. As long as they keep putting out garbage I will be employed fixing it. Praise be to MicroCrap!
