A really neat African hunting story involving the ever elusive "Garden Gato".

Why would a man carry an empty weapon unless he's shot up all his ammo? bewildered The least he could've done is wack it with the barrel on the way by. Doesn't that double have a bayonet lug?! Eeker

Fellas in all honesty...I live in a metro area where they frown in shooting elephant guns in the boro even though I am the former mayor...Truthfully I was not out of ammo and if it was where I hunt the double would have barked....

Mike...we know that. You have to apply a very fine toothed comb to discern the few crumbs of reality here in the Crat House. Wink

Well practice is practice. You don't want to learn mag changes 10 yards from a leaping lawn leopard, ranch cougar, or as panzerguy says, garden gato. First learn the drill, then ya go to africa for the practical, THEN you come back home and put it into practice. You just know the mayor would get no flack for putting down a porch panther, presumably rabid, attacking his wife and children (it would be different in californee of colorado: you would probably get arrested for lion baiting).

Yeah Mike, good luck on your hunt. But I still think a bayonet lug on an Elephant gun would be handy. At least it would start a few conversations. thumb

A 450-400 would have also gotten him into the top five for the "Biggest Cat Rifle" competition.
