My .22 marlin model 60 is very accurate (i understand that this model isnt held high on the pedestal) at 50 yrds can do some quater to half dollar groups. thats on a BAD day does better when there is no wind. but any suggestion for shots out to 150 yrds? does anyone shoot these distances with a .22 LR?

also when using the scope should my shot placment change when shooting the first shot from a cold barrel. then from firing 30 40 rounds and shooting from a hot barrel?

If I know I need 150 yds.+,,,,I'm breaking out the H-bar,,100-600 yds.,,,,, Not a problem.Due to a recent post,,I'm thinking yet again about a hornet barrel for my contender,,,,and it's been really good this year,,,I think santa will have a gift under the tree for it this year Clay

CK, there is no particular preference for whacking crats. First off it depends on what's available. Every man's gun locker is different, so as a priority I'd say grab what you can. Next, grab what you want. As always, have enough gun. Don't ever hunt with an ugly gun. If you don't have faith in your gun, sell it or give it to somebody who knows no better, and get a GOOD gun. Golf clubs, ball bats, slingshots and stick shift Chevy trucks do a fine job too. Use your skill, and imagination.
