Well, I bagged a grinner last night. He won't be eatin' strawberries anymore. Big Grin

Then I made a few calls this AM, did a few errands and solved half the worlds problems...don't worry, there will be a whole and a half to fix tomorrow. Then I went down to see the doc, sorta an eye to eye thing. Hell, he's an eye doc...

He looked me eye to eye and mumbled "You need to go see Doc JIELiovnelfmnal;"
"Who?"
"Dr. Cratzen luiejkl;ajj"
That made me a little nervous. "Doc, take the pen outta your mouth. His name is Cratzen?"
"That's his first name, last one is Blasten."
WOW, what a relief that was! Whew! Cool
"Why, does he shoot?" Confused
"Naw, he's a knife man." Eeker

Confused Confused Confused

"Dan," he sez, "...ya got a tumor in your eye socket, we need to get that sucker plucked."

I was wearin' brand new skivvies, and the 90 day warranty expired after only an hour. Frowner Well, he sez he doesn't think it's malignant and I really hope he knows what the pluck he's talkin' about, and he'd let Doc Cratzen Blasten work on him, all that stuff. We'll(Mrs. Dan and me) will be meetin' up with Doc Blasten on the 12th and find out what for.

Small thanks that it's not my shootin' eye, but dammit all, if I lose the bad one I'm gonna have it replaced with a pale blue laser rangefinder. thumb

I cannot imagine why you couldn't get something functional put in an eyesocket if they have to take one out, but I think, Mr. Dan, that you won't have to worry about that.

Our prayers are with you.

The old tom was sneaking along DD's rear fence assuming he was out of range. He didn't notice the blue laser tracking him relentlessly while it fed accurate distance information into DD's brain through the new high tech
implant. DD's other eye was making elevation corrections as the tom went across the yard. The tom paused to
check where another tom had marked a post. That was the last thing the tom did. DD's new organic digital
range finder had passed it's field test and DD was grinning big after the slug impacted with the tom's chest.
We don't call him Digital Dan for nothin'.

Dang, I gotta come here more often to catch up on stuff.

Dan, good luck to ya on this, and I'll put in a word or two for ya with the Big Guy upstairs as well.

I nearly lost an eye in an accident myself a few years back. Luckily I didn't, and I'm fine, but I can still remember when the accident happened and I thought I'd lost my eye, as I was collapsing to the floor on the way down all I could think was, "Well damn, I guess now I better be real careful with my other one."

It's amazing what goes through your head during stuff like that.

Dan,
Good luck on the check out. Dr.'s do some amazing things today. My wife is proof of that. My prayers are with you on this.

Don't know how you make the treck from FL to MO. But if you happen to run across from I 40 to I 55 on 412 in TN, you go right past my house. Stop in and I will let you sample some fuel water reducer that is locally manufactured, (clear or chared).

I'm west of Jackson by 8 miles on 412. Let me know next time you are coming through, we will throw a backstrap on the smoker, and I'll fetch a jug of branch water to cut the squeeze with.

And Tennessee is LONG. I am commuting to Portland (30 miles or so north of Nashville on 65) a couple of times a week right now, got a big distribution center going up there for Federated Department Stores. Dogwoods and redbuds are in full bloom right now, (what ain't been beat off by the hail and wind, we have had two bad spells of tornadoes in the last week), so the drive is really pretty at the moment. I just finished one up for ALTEC in Burnsville, NC, now that is a drive!

How did you like that spanking you got on I 55 north of Dyersburg? Two weeks after the wife got the kidney from my daughter in law, we loaded them all up and moved my son and her up to St. Louis. I was pulling a trailer with all his heavy stuff on it, every one of those bumps got us 3 times. We had the wife and daugher in law packed with pillows like they were eggs.
