I have been experimenting with my paintball gun. I splattered one cat with cyanoacrilate epoxy injected into a green paintball to celebrate St. Patrick's day. . The cat has been green on one side for a month or so now, as I have since seen see him from time to time. I've mentioned deterring a few cats from coming into the yard with solid body hits from paintballs laced with skunk scent from "The Olde Tyme Trapper Supply Co.". That makes it easy to figure out where they live even after the color is gone. I got a couple with frozen paintballs too. Improved shot placement at short range made possible by adding olympic sights has allowed my garden fertilizing experiments to continue. I shot one with "Tough as Nails" paneling glue replacing the paint and as it skedaddled around the corner of a neighbor's house, he stuck there for quite a while. Besides, paintball guns are fun! I substituted fish oil capsules for paintballs and shot up the local Ladies Cat Fanciers Social Hall one warm, lazy, southern aftermoon last summer too. They had so many cats that appeared for some unknown reason they had to take lots of them to the pound and still busted their spay/neuter budget. Even did a drive-by once or twice on porch panthers, and shot up a cat dealer's place one particularly dark night. What can I do to the pneumatics to the arm to get more range?

My suggestion would be to ditch the PB gun and buy a surplus airport fire truck. The kind with the remote overcab nozzle. Fill the tank with whatever gives you chills, and have at it. I think they can blow a stream about 100 yards or so, and NOBODY gives firefighters any crap these days. Wink Best of luck! thumb

Since cats like to lick their fur, perhaps you can use some phenotheylene (sp?) from the local pharmacy. Its the active ingredient in Exlax. It could make the cat very unwelcome at its home. Maybe you could use some Big Ass Dog in Heat lure, or how about Bobcat in Heat or Cougar in Heat. Could get the cat reamed out pretty well. Now I've got to find a paintball gun. New opportunities open up every day.

RELOAD - ITS FUN!

I asked my boss for a firetruck similar to that,,,He said no,,but gave me a 1500 gal. stainless steel tank and a check then sent me to the junkyard Cool I came back with a twin reel pump unit w/50' of 1 1/2" hoze on each side,60' of 6x6 H beam,And,2 international truck front axles.Fitted it with a pacer hi-head 2" pump powered by a gresen hyd motor. I can shoot a 1 1/2" stream of water around 50 yds. or so. Ned,,If you could switch that thing over to compressed air vs. co2,,,you'd have a killer [literally] paintball gun,,The co2 valving will lock up under the additional pressure.Dennis Quackenbush has successfully made such conversions to crossman pelletguns,,He's a nice guy and would probably be the best person to help you on your quest..Good Luck,,,Clay

Thanks for the words of encouragement guys. Since my post I ground up some catnip in my coffe bean grinder, mixed it into a regional pesto sauce with OEH's pheno(ex-lax elixir)stuff and fish oil, fixed up quite few paint balls, and using my maimed quail peeper cheeper cat call, got a big surly orange tabby to come in as dusk was falling. My pampas grass blind is precisely 37 yards from the combination bird feeder/Old Sparky cat place in the back yard. Attracted by the call, the cat started watching the big mouth billy bass I had put there flopping its tail when it crossed the sensor. I got him three times, two of which were running shots. And he jumped the fence fairly quickly. Let me assure all of you veterans of the cat wars. I Am not out to make a name or top the official records held by others here. I do all of this as a public service, perhaps to offset the unwarranted cat hugger deviltry that happens everywhere, particularly in liberal Canada and in some western states. P.S. I almost forgot, I did put a little bit of Gorilla Glue in the pesto. N.S. Sherlock

My first thought for another substance to inject into a paintball? Some Glow-in-the-dark stuff. Preferably a clear liguid. Just imagine the puzzlement back home when the lights are turned off. You can probably find that in toy stores.

I especially like the catnip/exlax mix. What a mess. Is there such a think at Cat or Dog Juice? I've seen and smelled Doe Juice, but then there's a market for that.

The problem with Paintballs is the projectile, not the launcher.

Sphere's are aerodynamically inefficient, as NS Sherlock no doubt knows. If they could dimple the paintball, it would greatly increase range due to the laminar flow effect(That's why they're on golf balls)

If you have a Tippman 98/A-5, you're best chance for increased range is a Flatline kit. Figure a benny for cost.

Personally, I'd worry less about range and more about fire rate - that's why I'm building an Electromonster of an Autococker - I'm hoping for 20+BPS....

Give me some more info, and I can make some suggestions. Or Try Doc Nickel's forum.

I am surprised nobody suggested those LE only CS filled paintballs... Eeker

Thanks for the help. I never thought about the cs type paintball, but I did think of making a bunch up with hair bleach, egyptian red wimmins hair do dye, and cat house orange hair color and anything else, and go to cat painting. The glow-in-the-dark idea was super too. Been thinking about those plastic pellet look-alike machine guns I saw at a gun show and was wondering how much the pellet weight could be increased. What about those old time ping pong ball shooters? Toy conversion for cat education purposes might be fun.

forget marbles, you'll ruin a good barrel.

Wanna ruin a cat's day? put the paint in the freezer overnight. They will not rupture if you keep them cold.

Sure fire method to ruin a crat's day! thumb
