I got caught playing the cat shooting game .
Not by my GF , but her mom .I was at Ann's house waiting to take here out and her mother road in on her broom .

I never heard her knock , she must have just walked in .

The SH!T hit the fan and she wants Ann to dump me .

Any sujestions on how to shut the Battle Axe up and get her off my case .
BTW she lost 2 flea bag Krats to high speed lead poisining in the last month .
I visited 2 times in the last month jumping

Ann is not a Krat lover , she just wants peice in the family .

The way I see it, you did your part in stopping the spread of Feline Aids. Without the extermination of those two cats, her entire herd might have had to be exterminated. In fact, it may already be to late for the rest of the cats, they probably should be mercifully saved from their terrible fate.

If the explanation does not work, beg for forgiveness. That coupled with roses and jewelry may be enough to forget about this little misunderstanding.

First idea, change the locks and use them. At least she cannot just walk in.

Way back when, me and some friends had a bad situation somewhat similar to yours. It is a long story.
For me shooting a cat would be a very last resort. If they were making a mess I would exhaust every method before I'd shoot one if I was anywhere near civilization. I definitely wouldn't do it for recreation.
You should realize that some people see their pets as members of the family. You might as well shoot one of their kids. People get their deep down emotions all riled up when their pets get shot, and a lot of serious charges have been brought against people who've been caught shooting domestic animals. It's up to you if you're going to do it but you'd better keep in mind some of the possible ramifications of killing people's animals.
Perhaps you are within your rights to cull the cat population, but I think that as you've seen, some folks don't take things like that too lightly.

well for what it is worth I feel bad you got into trouble. Look on the bright side though. You got a little make believe trigger time that may have sharpened your skills for the repalcements she will probally get to replace the ones that are missing.

This is where you seperate the keepers from the "nurotically connected to her mother".
It's also where you insist that the Mother In Hell call before she comes by and walks in without knocking.
She would not have been offended if she had the basic courtousy to announce her intention to brazenly enter your abode un announced.

Well, you COULD put antifreeze in your mother-in-law's food, but barring that, I'd suggest CB longs through a long barrelled rifle to the brain, then put her body behind the rear wheel of the car. Then, when you back up, act surprised and say to your wife, 'What the hell was that?" Then, go back and look and say, "Dammit, I ran over your mother! I knew that would happen sooner or later, the way she kept sleeping on that tire!"

Don't worry. After the funeral in the back yard and a couple of days of "cuddling", you'll be golden.

If you acctually killed her pets... I hope she sues you to financial ruin.

In NY she could have you arrested and charged with a Felony.

Killing true feral cats is one thing and I have no problem with it. Killing someones pet is quite another, If I had proof you shot one of my pets I would own your paycheck for the rest of your life.

IF I HAD PROOF ONE OF YOUR CATS WAS ON MY PROPERTY, I WOULD KILL IT AND BURY IT IN A SHALLOW GRAVE.

OK..OK.. That was a little harsh, but really put your cats inside.

It is illegal in my state to let dogs or domestic aminals run free, and the owner of the property that they are caught on has the right to shoot them on site. Don't get me wrong I actually like some cats they are effective rodent control around my neck of the woods and it is common practice between the folks here that when the scope comes up on the cat and it has a collar on we don't shoot it, no collar bye bye kitty. Dogs are the same way, although if the owner refuses to keep the dog to home after several contacts the dog goes collar or no. And as stated above YOU the pet owner are the one subject to the heafty fines as YOU are the one breaking the law by allowing your pet to rome free, if you are not allowing your pet to rome free and someone shoots it on your property just for giggles THEY are the ones with their but in a sling.

As to your problem with the GF's mother either dump her or marry her and move to the other side of the country.

Clem, In all reality you are correct. I know that's the way it is where I am now, and that's why my cat stays in. And I don't shoot the neihbors cats becuase I don't want them shooting mine should he get out.

What blows me away, is the audacity of this guy to go over to someones house as a guest (his GF's) where he wacks the family pets because he doesn't like cats. Its not even his property, (the cats or the house)!
I could almost see it if mum-inlaw lived next door and he asked her several times to keep the cat in; but Numbnuts here goes over to her house and shoots her cats, as a guest! That is stupid. Talk about giving a bad rap to anybody with a gun.

Like I said before, culling fearal cats I have no problem with, but I make sure they are feral first. Killing someones pet is just plain rude.

The Battle axe lives in a run down house trailer on 40 acres, with junk cars EVERYWHERE around the place .
Her EX got smart and left her 10 or so years back ( smart man )

If I bothered to count there must be 50+ of those flea bags running around her place .
She feeds them and they breed like rats .
I only shot the 2 that I saw hunting on the back side of the place where I have permission to hunt from the neibor .
How she knows they are gone with all the other ones around is beyond my understanding , if she even dose .
She maybe just assumes I am killing them , I can't tell and I am not asking !!

I have refrained from any Krat smacking even close to her trailer .

The GF is letting me replace the locks ( and she agreed to keep the doors LOCKED )
I even got her to ASK her mother to call before coming over .
I thought we had her PO'ed when she caught us in bed ( another time she walked in ), but this is different .
Now I am mad and am thinking of live traping every Krat I can acrost the road and turning them in to the dog warden .
Let the county gas them after 7 days

I set 6 live traps in the neibor barn acrost the road .
I have permission from him to clean out the "Stray" cats .
He is tired of them leaving tracks all over his car and using the flowerbed as a litter box .

I will not kill them , but on my way to work .
I will drop them off at the dog warden .( this cource of action is GF aproved )
They have a policy in efect , due to over crowding , of keeping cats adult cats 7 days .
Then they gas them .

The GF had a yelling match with her mother last night ( I wish I would have seen it ) over me and other things .
They are not speaking , so I may not have to deal with her for a while .

As for the cat lover owning your paycheck, If his cat comes into my yard all you need to say after sending it to the grave where the nasty beast belongs is you were defending your children from a agressive animal. Then he is SOL on the lawsuit. Trust me there. I capped one right in front of the owners after warning them several times, and there aint a thing they can do about it if it wasnt premeditated and you were defending your family. Adios furball.

It sounds like she already had it in for you and this was just an excuse. Give it time for her to cool off. If she doesn't, then you know she's just hostile to you.
It might be helpful to remind everyone of a few things:
At least she didn't walk in and catch you talking to some internet strange on a singles web site.
At least she didn't catch you pulling your pud while drooling over some porno website, or worse yet, some kiddie porn, or the NAMBLA site.
It could be a lot worse.
If she's so wadded up that she doesn't see that, then she is probably just buggered in the head. I described the psychopathology of hard-core crat lovers in another post, so I won't go into it here.
If that's the case, I can sympathize. My M-I-L is crazy as a shithouse rat. I feel your pain.
From my experience this is the sort of situation that comes along in every marriage where both parties have to decide how much they really value the marriage. If the battle axe can drive you apart, then you have issues that need to be resolved.

P.S. From your last post it sounds like your GF is on your side. That's awesome, and a quality of a good wife. God bless her.
It also sounds like she and her ovum donor have their own issues. Been there too. Just hang tough and stick by her. You have worked out a solution between you that is workable and that you can both live with. That's what it's all about. To Hell with what the rest of the world thinks. Hang in there and make it work. Let the battle axe keep pissing on everybody, and you might get permission eventually to whack the damned crats. Also, nothing pisses off a hag like that more than to render her bitching ineffective. For someone like that it's worse than death. (IME)

Johnch:

I congratulate you on the GF, wish you both well, sounds like she's on your side.

Sounds like a perfect place to dump a big pile of choc laced burger around the area. Once it's gone, where's the proof?? Don't take that many long to gobble up a bunch of hamburger. Do it after the O/L has gone to bed and by morning it'll be too late.

I wouldn't worry about it either. How many get in the barn you're trapping?

You and the gf living on the o/l's property? Yours, or the gf's?? What's the old biddy doing just walking in the door anyway?????

Good luck, and good trappin, shootin etc.

George
