Actually, Hamburg is their biggest store: 250,000 sf versus 175,000 for the West Viginia store(edit: I did some quick looking at Cabela's website and Hamburg IS their biggest store, The new West Virginia store has a 400,000SF distribution center in addition to the retail store - I didn't count that as it's not open to the public, just warehouse space, really) I think that this is the first time Cabela's opened a store that wasn't bigger then the last one they opened. Haven't made it out to the Hamburg store yet. Dundee MI & Prarie WI both sound about the same but on a slightly smaller scale. That Bass Pro place in Islamadora is worth checking out too. The guy that first told me about the Cabelas stores told me this right after giving me the directions to the place. Leave your credit cards in the truck!!

I understand that the fish in the proshops tanks are well fed on a very regular basis, smaller ones that disappear are quickly replaced with new recruits, scarred fish are usually quickly removed, i.e., fish tank management with one solid employeee designated as tank manager. In Atlanta it was the fly shop expert, for quite a while. Its not a walmart dying guppy operation you know, more like the show must go on, someone is always ready to get in Mickey's costume for the parade. Feeding is usually before opening hours. Well fed fish don't often bite each other. Ask around, particularly with a senior, stable, specialist employee, you can find out for sure about your local tank.

Key Largo also has fewer tourists, not that Islamorada is usually over run. The Cheeca Lodge is down right pleasant. If you make it don't miss the Ismorada fish house right next door. A yellow tail basket and red stripe are to die for and the price can't be beat at about ten bucks. I've taken a lot of charters out of Bud n Mary's marina. Islamorada is a second home for me. The Cabela's in Dundee Mi is really nice as well. Blows the shorts odd any Bass Pro store except the one in the keys. I think they have a carbon copy now in Dania Fl next to the IGFA hall of fame just N of Ft. Lauderdale.

I stopped at the PA store back in June while attending the MAC II regional at Fort Indiantown Gap. I shoot a ton of mil spec ammo and the Cabela's remanufactured SS109 equivalent is the cheapest way to buy in bulk. Especially since there's no shipping! Every lot of 200 comes with a dry box and 600 is the best price break. I also picked up 4 boxes of 9mm, 300 per box. After going through check out and loading all my ammo in the van I was headed to customer service to order a parka that was out of stock. It was then that I noticed that instead of being charged for the ammo and recieving the dry boxes free, I was charged for 7 dry boxes and got the ammo free. The ammo was packed in the dry boxes and the bar code on the box was for the box, not the ammo. I figured that I owed Cabela's about $180. After a minute of wanting to go over and empty the display of every round in the store, I decided to tell them what happened. It took 3 times through the story to get the ladies at the customer service counter to figure out what I was talking about. Needless to say, eyes got wide, the manager was called and a$$holes were jumped through. I was thanked for my honesty by getting a $100 credit and a $20 break on my parka. Through the whole process everyone at the store was extremely polite and helpful, even before they figured out I owed them money. The store is amazing and the displays are incredible. The 5 musk ox being cornered by wolves was my favorite. I've been to Greenland several times and got the same chill seeing the ox mounted that I do seeing them in person with nothing between us but a camera or truck door. Take your family and bring a lunch. Don't skip the bargain room, lots of great deals to be had. Bill
