I agree with the thought of motion scaring the Squills.
I did see a cat come down out of a tree head first.
A neighbors cat saw a squill run up the tree in my front yard.It must have thought that it was 'Sporting' to go up said tree after the gray demon.
It didn't work out too well for the cat.

Yes, well it's good that it didn't work for the cat. They don't have the same articulation on their hind legs that squill have etc. Maybe that's how the varieties know as the Manx get their pug noses? In truth I was referring to the other kind of 'crat, ie, Dimocrat. I know this isn't the Ignorance Crater but I couldn't control my fingers there for just a moment....

derf, naked is the way it all started, and is the way one should face the charge. It transports you back to times before the ice age, when men were steel and ships were wood so to speak. You ever pause to reflect upon which Cro or Magnon took that first step and picked up a stick or rock to face the Sabre Tooth Tyger? Wasn't he a MAN?! I'll just bet he'd fit right in here, doncha think? Next thing that followed of course was "Oh great, now what do I do with this thing?" We know of course that why we were given wives, to provide that special motivation... Can't you hear the guy now, "You want me to do WHAT with that hide?! Naked ain't good enough for you?"

Does anybody know if squirrels get spooked by blaze orange? Either through personal experience or scientific studdies.

I had one trying to out stair me while Deer Hunting during Black Powder season. It was doing a perty good job until I shot at him with the 54 cal rb and 100grs of Pyrodex RS at 15ft. I was trying a head shot and missed but I think I singed his furry ass anyway. Mom was mad because she wanted Squirrel for dinner. If I had hit him there wouldn't have been anything left. Heck maybe that is why I couldn't find him. But to answer your question I was wearing a blaze orange hat and vest.

Swede , Try 'Barkin' the Squill next time. Try to hit the tree just under the varmint. The resulting explosion will knock em dead without tearing them up.
After deer hunting all day without results, a large cloud of red mist is very satisfying.

Hi frank4570,
Welcome aboard!!! I have hunted tree rats in both blaze orange and camo and can't see a difference. The key (well stated by the others) is "don't move". Glad to have you with us, take care and God bless.
