Nice plainer mill, but I like the surface grinder better (at least until my arm starts aching from running the deck back and forth)

The first is a small horizontal, not a planar mill. Made by Rockwell.

The second is a Boyar Schultz 6X12 surface grinder.

Both are extremely clean and are going into the ongoing machine tool collection.

Now all I need is a small cylinder grinder and mebbe a VMC!

I am looking forward to two things just now. The first is a SUPER catraption piece of work from Toolmaker and his toys. The second is an an asian mystery story of a cat vanquished by the combination of ancient ninja black art and a silver bustier. N.S.

It gets better.

The deal was expanded to include a small cylinder grinder and a Jet bandsaw...

Has anyone been able to get those microgroove barrels to shoot cast bullits?

Toolmaker and Poletax appear to know lots about those big crat blasters. How about making a pneumatic, truck mounted,F-150 size blaster that uses those bank pneumatic tube containers as the cat delivery sabot. I could put my favorite cat in there, close the orbiter vehicle hatch, insert, set the sega dash mounted control to something like "outta sight", "lunar orbit", "30 kilometers", "face of ancient rock formation", "smithereens", "GCII", and just push start to launch. No messy cleanup! Just the gentle swish of acceleration and the WHUMP of departure. Start my own felion colonies in new places.

Another fine example of genius at work! thumb Could you add an auto loader for PETA functions? Confused And a big bore version with sequential serial numbers? The Feds are about to de-list the American Croc, and I think that would be a helluva sight, an 18' croc at the apex of trajectory over the Washington Monument! With luck it would land in the Tidal Basin, clean up the wayward strippers, politicians and what not. They only deserve what they've made us live with for the last 50 years or so. Red Face I hate Crocs. Don't think much of being #2 in the food chain either. thumbdown

Hmm, mebbe we could adapt the HARP concept to put felines into low orbit?

Believe it or not, I just don't have any idea what to do with it at the moment, mostly the cylinder grinder.

Suggestions people?

Don't be making fun of my idea. You know, every Buck Rogers and since then sci-fi adventure movie I ever saw had a durn transporter container that everyone just stepped into that worked just like the bank pneumatic gizmoid. So I know the principle is good. Add a railroad roundhouse mechanism to the truck mounted blaster and Ya got a Lewis gun type pan fed fully automatic cat blaster. Hell, suborbital launching should be feasible.

Ned,

HARP stands for High Altitude Research Project.

Dr. Gerald Bull designed it for the US government. You may remember Dr. Bull as the guy Saddam Hussein hired to build a 1000 mile range howitzer to aim at Tel Aviv. He was murdered by unknown parties after finishing the design, but the cannon was never built as major sections of the barrel were seized by British Customs...
