The move, that is. Lois and I are out of the pharmacy owner's house line shack. We pulled a final all-nighter scrubbing, scrubbing and scrubbing some more.

The wife (think Tammy Fae Baker, but with poor taste and a heavy hand with the mascara brush) represented the family honor in court. I felt bad for her attorney, who I know well. Miss dark eyebrows/blonde hair/yellow top/green capris/semi-filled out derrier/headlights pointing straight ahead way past gravity time was unclear on the concept of being quiet in court, and not yelling in the hallway outside the courtroom.

The Judge told opposing counsel that Lois had heard and litigated many cases in front of him and that he would have to recuse himself if she wished; it was entirely her call (e.g. "Lois, are you moved or do you need another week or two to finish up?").

Lois said "everything is cool Judge", and handed opposing counsel a check for his fee and court costs (minimal for this day and age). Tammy Fae did not get to say anything.

BTW, the pharmacy owner found out yesterday that there is a new pharmacy coming to town in the next nine months. I would have liked to have seen the expression on his face, but within a strong degree of medical certainty, I know what it was.

Oh yeah, the judge was especially impressed that our former landlords "unilaterally appropriated" our heavy duty roto-tiller and new trolling motor. Ah, but that is a topic for the next court case. Too bad there wasn't a rental agreement. Mr. "I'm watching the value of my pharmacy slide toward oblivion" is too smart to enter into written contracts, or engage the services of an attorney on the front end of a business relationship.

Smiler Smiler Smiler Smiler Smiler

I'm going home with Lois to drink some decaff coffee and sleeeeeep for the next fourteen hours.

CIAO!

Sometimes, just sometimes....I've enjoyed being in court for odd reason...wish I coulda been a fly on the wall fer that one. Sometimes it's best just to steal their thunder, giving a weeks worth of frustration and indigestion with a smile....priceless! thumb

No matter that things "went your way" I hate to see ya suffer the indigities.

Oh well seems the Tammy Faye make up trowel fared less well.

Best to you in the new location and endeavor!

CVS, Eckards or Walgreens??

One or more of the three are much more common than gas sations in this part of the country!

Homedale Drug, the only one in the county ('fer now, that is).

There has got to be something in the water here lately.

What I have discovered these last serveral years is that a chronic illness leads to poverty, the one sin no one forgives you for.

That is a good thing though; the christmas card list gets trimmed down quite a bit.

Next year, when I am feeling sprightly again, these same people will say, "shucks JCN, I was jest spoofin'; come on over next Saturday and we'll grill a few steaks."

I don't care, I'll gladly eat their steaks.
