When driving a lot with a girl, and I see a cat. My first remark is usually something about killing it and then trying to run it over. THe common response is "Why do you hate cute cats like that" I don't really have a responce. It is just in my genetics. Why do you guys hate and kill cats??

They compete for game. They kill quail, pheasant and songbirds. Like some humans, they kill for fun.

Why? Because they are disloyal free-loaders. They come home to eat and claw up the furniture or the screen door. They leave the room when the burglar enters. People allow them to poop indoors in a box of scented sand. They're moody. Shall I continue?

They spread disease, puke on the carpet, crap all over the place, and they eat quail. Tell your gal that virtually everyone that owns a crat has been exposed to a disease can cause blindness in newborn chillin'. Then buy her an NEF 20 ga and some #3 Buck.

Speaking of quail, I went to feed mine last night. Those damn things draw pussy better than Godiva chocolates. I have my quail in a call back cage under an eave of an old tobacco barn. I have ringed the cage with fencing to keep out unwanted critters such as possums and coons. This set up works pretty well.
But last night I pull up to the pen and in my headlights I see something flopping around on the ground in front of the pen.
Another bigheaded tomcat had tried to slip through the fencing only to get his head caught just behind the ears. He was hollering something fierce 'cause I think he knew what was coming his way.

Like an idiot ( but mainly cause I went there straight from work and they frown upon firearms on company property ) I had no firearms with me with which to deliver the coup de grace. But I did have an old but very sharp machete.

Simply grabbed ol' yeller by the tail, stretched him out taut, and de-nogginized him.

But don’t try this while wearing a white dress shirt.

You may wish to drive with a girl who has something between her ears called intelligence. It will save explaining the obvious so frequently. The girl you describe is likely a demoncrat as her question suggests and if you persist you will soon be explaining why it is not ok to free murderers on miniscule technicalities, why dead people should not vote, what the Second Amendment means, that liberal journalists are not war heroes, and why uninvited intruders in your home are not guests. There are many girls of intelligence out there.

Unfortunately, the dumb ones give it up more readily than the smart ones. I think this may be the weakness for most men.

By the way, I am severely disappointed in this thread. I opened it fully expecting to hear the voice of Edward Murrow, and scratchy black and white footage of WWII combat. You know, "Why We Fight?" newsreel footage.

Oh, well.

They're trespassers. I have killed several cats that reside in one of two homes witinin sight of mine. I like birds and keep pigeons, guinea fowl and hawks. Cats are mostly just a threat to the pigeons but I don't kindly suffer trespassers of any species. An ordinary fence that will make the neighbors kids and dogs behave is no good against cats. Pellet guns, Conibear traps, and the old combo havahart trap with wild release and 10 ga. magnum do keep cats away.

Seems at an early age, a tom "marked" her shoes left on the front porch.
After smelling cat piss all day, her opinion of the little bastards changed for the better.
I have actually heard her giggle when I swerve into a ditch to try and nail one.

In Australia, it has been proven by study after study, that cats ( feral) are the largest destroyers of our fauna.

If you do not want to see small bird, colourful parrots and more, then let the cats run free.

Between a lovely rural coloured parrot and a feral cat, the cat gets whatever I have to shoot every time.

This site has finally got to me somewhat what with the moderators and owner allowing the disgusting way domestic cats are killed. Now some animals are pests indeed and need to be taken care of somehow.

But a topic that starts with someone running over cats with his girl in the car reeks.

From an American living in Europe, I kill cat's because they are THE NUMBER ONE REASON, that the song birds of Europe are dissapearing.

I snipe them, poison them, kill them with my bare hands, throw rocks, at them, and run them over.

They will kill every song bird they can catch, every rabbit, and every game bird.

They are lethal small animal preditors, they breed year round, and have no self control other than man.

BBC did a show on feral animals in Britain a few years ago, and they said the number one reason for the loss of over 80% of Britains song birds was feral cats.

That and they shit in your house and expect you to clean it up, they are cowards against a burglar, and they give you diseases. Just like quoted above.

At least a ferret will die in the wild. No case of feral ferrets running in packs and wiping out songbirds. Ferrets can't even survive the night outside the house. Something will kll them.

Savage,

One of the things that separates man from the beasts of the field is our innate creativity.
I find Max M.s technique for weeding out inappropriate life partners to be creative, humorous and to have a more profound connotation than may be obvious at first glance.

As far as I'm concerned, Lawndart said it all.

Nowadays, when I watch the commercials for either cat food or place to do their business I am always struck by by the cold eye of the cat. It really is chilling. I could happily shoot cats on country property even today - and I'm 75 soon to be 76 -and shooting hunting cats since I was 12. I live today in a garden apartment complex of buildings with lawns and trees - and where there are occasional cats. Almost always, they freeze as they see me - and I watch them too! Two old enemies know each other on sight! Smiler

Domestic cats my ass.

They are preditors, pure and simple.
God made them that way for a reason. As they are no longer prey for larger carnivors, they have over populated their habitat.

Ask someone down under about their "domestic" kittys

Why I hate cats (aside from all the previous reasons):
Because, like other subhuman terrorists, they destroy creatures better than themselves and expect to be admired for it. Because the cultures (and mentalities) that prize them tend to be vile wallowing cesspools. Because they allow stupid people to remain under cover. You know that's why people keep the filthy things? Dogs are like children, they are a living testament to the person(s) who influenced them, for good or bad. When your dog does something stupid chances are there is a stupid person involved, somewhere, and most folks will assume it is you. That's one reason a dog owner who is not a dumbass will try to instill a little training in his pet (as a responsible parent will with their child). However, when a cat does something foul the owner can fall back on that same tired old excuse: "Oh, my goodness! It's just doing what a cat does! After all, you can't train a cat! And you have to let them do what they want to do! Oh dear me, it's just beyond my control!" In this manner their stupidity is hidden. Oh, and while I'm on this subject, consider this. A dog is very much like a child, and the people who are good with them (most times) also like kids (and have some kid in them). A cat, on the other hand, is a remorseless sociopathic thrill-killer. They all are. What kind of person, therefore, would want one next to them? I am convinced that great fondness for domestic cats is a symptom of some deep-seated, overpowering, psychological dysfunction.

I ain't real fond of coyotes, but if they give fluffy a taste of his own medicine (chasing cats mercilessly and ripping them up), then that's all to the good.
Question: When 'yotes move into an area, does the crat population take a noticable hit?
I've heard it's the case out West, but an established coyote population is a pretty recent development around here.
Maybe I can let the coyotes deal with the furry little psychopaths and start hunting songdogs?

I shoot every feral/tom cat I see on our ranch or around it, if it doesnt have a colar, then its dust to the 410 lever gun! I gotta say, the wreck the pheasants/quail in the nebraska regions. People think its great on farms to have a god damn gaggle of strays to eat scraps and wander around the barn, but if you ask anyone in pheasants forever or Quail UNLTD, they are a growning cause for the loss of ground nesting birds, that and turkeys are coming on strong too...

Brassb, if I were gay, I'd kiss you. That is one of the best explanations of the disease known as "cat lover" I have ever heard.

I feel the same way about inmate activists: Secretly, in their hearts, they want to kill, rape, steal and maim, but they lack the courage to do so, so they do the next best thing and support Tookie Williams.

Frankly, they all sickify me.
