I just got fired from my civilian job, today. Reason given: Just not working out. I'm sure it had NOTHING to do with my upcoming mobilization and extra military duty I needed time off for....

Oh, well. I was looking for a job when I found this one.

I thought that was against the law, if it isn't it should be. Lots of work in Wyoming, when you get back. And thank you in advance.

It is, but it is quite difficult to prove. Employers are just going to give another equally vague reason...like "not working out" and they are off the hook.

120mm, good luck. On the bright side, here in Texas anyone with reasonable technical skills is in high demand. Come on down!

Low bred, ill mannered, sorry mother.......
I hold not much hope, but possibly decency will one day break out with employers, maybe it will happen while you are putting your life on the line so that they can live their money grubbing existance in peace and freedom. But don't hold your breath, it will only make you blue I am afraid!

May they wind up in hell with their back broke!

I knew what kind of "ethics" these guys practiced a couple of months ago, when they asked me to do a 2000 hour inspection without doing the 500 hour inspection. Of course, the first step of doing a 2000 hour inspection is to do the 500 hour inspection.

If you own an airplane, do NOT get maintenance at Des Moines International Airport. They are a tub o' snakes there.

It sounds like to me that you need to get a hold of somebody that will hand thier ass to them for those kind of ethics, were not exactly talking golfcarts here.
Keep that in mind and goodluck with your next move.

The problem is, you need to do it the "right way" or you will never work in the industry again. Right or wrong, that's the way it is.

Good luck!

Dang, I'm sorry to hear that man.

Our company here in South Alabama just sent off 10 of our employees to Iraq, complete with company-wide luncheon, hand-shaking from the CEO, and a standing ovation from damn near every employee in the company at what these guys are doing and doing for us - along with our sincerest hopes to throw them *ALL* a coming-home party when they get back.

I dunno how things are done in the rest of the world, but if you ever feel like relocating to South Alabama, we stand behind our troops.

Hey 120? What do you do?

I have a few residual contacts with Sikorsky Aircraft down here in Troy, Alabama if you do anything with airframe maintenance/overhaul/repair type stuff.

N.S. - I am seriously considering your recommendation from our trip to Winchester. I am putting in for a bunch of contractor positions in the D.C. area. So far I have two very interesting leads in Alexandria.
