My loving wife got back from church today and wanted to know why there was blood on her car. I asked where...on the hood, windshield and grill...looks like splatered drops from something fairly recent......she said.

I offered an explaination that it was probably that big owl that got the neighbor's kittens several days ago...terrible thing to happen to those little darlings....or...it could have been a wounded goose since the season started the other day....beats me!!

The explanation seems to be working so far!! Next time better clean up is in order!!

Allways play dumb. It saves trying to get the details right.

Several years ago I heard a terrible ruckus in the middle of the night from the dogs outside, so I grabbed my shotgun and what I thought was a birdshot at the time, then went outside.

The dogs had cornered an armadillo under the carport in front of the car and were snapping at it. I got the dogs out of the way, and still about half-asleep I blasted the armadillo.

... IMMEDIATELY noticing the recoil wasn't #8 shot as I'd expected, I ejected the shell and went back inside to investigate ... 00 buck, 3" mag.

Oh well, back to sleep.

Next morning when I went out to my car to go to work, there was chunks of armadillo spattered everywhere - including big gobs of meat and entrails all over the windshield of my car.

Like Seyfried says, make sure you don't have too much gun.

Dan, I seem to recall Seyfreid said "Use enough gun."

It was a .17HM2 on a 10/22 action...can't get much smaller, but apparently it was just enough gun...I just missed a few spots on clean-up...well shit...it was dark! it was a front quartering shot with multiple exits....guts went toward the grill and the body came to rest on the hood amidship. Damn, I like that gun!!

Got to be damn careful you don't miss. A .17" diameter hole it the car would be a lot tougher to explain.
