With all that bait at hand JAWS must be lurking in the marina's waters !!!

But I think our hero needs heavier tackle ..

Our hero just needs a big net to catch the crats, and just feed them to Jaws. That way you get rid of all of the crats, not just one or two. The priority here is to rid the world of crats, first. Then, take the last couple of crats and with the heavy tackle, you go after Jaws. He will be so trained to come to the sound of the splashing crats it should be no problem to get him hooked. He will be an even bigger and fatter trophy, than if you go after him right away.

The lucky guy in the pic is pretty much enjoying himself. We all do this.
I take a 'bait pole' w/me out on my Fav. pier.Ya use it to catch a couple of small spots. These are ammo for yer main joysticks.
I lay cord out on two fighting stix and anchor w/8 ounce pyra's sinkers.Heavier if tide calls for it.
Put spot on large hook to suit bait size.Hook tied into 24" leader w/ snap swivel on pole end.Snap said leader onto pole line and give Spot bait a long sliding ride into water.
Swim,,,Swim,my lil' fools.Bluefish swarm.This is Heaven. Smiler
This is Viagra for Free.Get us another beer.
I'm freezing up here.I'm ready for summer vacaton.
And No, I don't worry about others outside my world.

Isn't that fisherman being careless. I always put my bait in a container rather than let it
sit on the pier and watch me as I fish.

I'm bettin' they're going to push him in the water and feed him to the CATfish. Eeker Curious fishing hole to my eye, nothing at all like Lick Creek, or the Cumberland River. Guy probably deserves what he gets...

Dan,

Have you not seen someone use a canepole, you know, "ethnic" fishing.

Why yes indeed! In fact I frequently fished for ethnics in Miami and Jacksonville while still employed. thumbProblem with most of them was that they never realized when they'd been hooked. Frowner

On a lighter note I often use a
'jigger' pole for speck fishin', and even have a pair of 20' glass poles(hi-tech ethnic poles) with 40# on them for sheepshead. That is a tussle BTW, almost as exciting as a Black Tom on a 12# Loomis with a 16# tippet!

Speaking of ethnic poles, is that an oxymoron?
