Subtle point to note. When you place your tool rack next to the door make sure you have instant choice of boltgun, shotgun, #9 iron, #3 wood, speargun, bush axe, hay fork, muskrat spear, frog gig, keys to Catomatic and/or F-150, baseball bat, shoulder length welder's gloves, TL-29, stick charge, rock, 2 1/2 longspring, conibear, redhawk, blackhawk, DGR, dog whistle, hammer, etc. It may save your life.

Ned, you was a Boy Scout once I'll bet!

Clay, it was that picture that inspired me to buy one. Couldn't live without it now. Just think of the consequences if I'd taken tongs last night instead of the old trusty.....

Speaking of charges, I just faced one down with a pitchfork.

Gee Dan, I didn't know you were quite the adrenaline junky!?!? A pitchfork??? Don't you know the dispersion between impact points on that weapon is WAY too large to be a reliable fight stopper, especially at long range! I mean, those tines are what, 2" apart? Most feral felines and rats (possoms included) have a kill zone much smaller than that. I know, if you get lucky, with good followthrough you will immobilize said demon for a finishing shot, but can you afford to take the chance? What does Mrs. Dan think about you taking that kind of risk?

Now if you are serious, you get the 'ol 5 prong flounder gig for a backup. 1" between holes, reliably day in and day out. Quarter bore too...nothing like 5x, .25" holes evenly spaced 1" apart to being that charge to a sudden and satisfying end.

Good luck, and watch your back out there!
