Even more satisfying is the sound of a 6mm bullet making dead center contact on the belly of a standing rockchuck. It is hard to describe. It is sort of a dull "wop" followed by a loud "pop", especially if the chuck just got back from watering in the creek.
The best sound is the rapid foot fall of a cat running full out across a field and the muffled "pop" sound when the 130 grain bullet from the 30-06 catches up.
Your right Claybuster. Just this morning I was enjoying the satisfying "pop" of the CCI Stinger bullets hit the middle of the erect adult sage rats. Sound adds so much!
This reminds me of the very satisfiying sound effects I got with my 17HMR shooting cottontails rabbits this winter. Whop!! The rabbits never even twitch.

Was thinking the other day that a really talented bunch of guys could make music with power tools, now we have another percussion instrument besides the nail gun. Would it play in Seattle?
I have rather enjoyed the simple thud of a dead cat hitting the ground after the H.S. short H.P. knocks it off the fence. A wonderful adagio to the opening salute.
