Yes, I just did get my keyboard dried off! I must say it is a pleasure to have another kindred spirit on board! Excellent Tail, I must say!

This sounds like fun! Add the silent loads to the mix, and you might get a 2nd shot. I have an idea on getting bait in the future.
We all know how kitty just can't resist a quick moving "mouse like" target, right?
Well, what if we (I) attached a 1/0 treble hook? Maybe someone else has already tried this, but I am guessing 30# test line, and a 6'6" medium stiff rod. Pussy hooked through the paw would be very noisy, fiesty, and extremly fun.
Add a 12 pack, and we are talking quality entertainment!
And for handling hooked pussy, welding gloves are a good start, but shove head into an old cowboy boot.

the best elements of hunting and fishing!

One of the silent load stories I read about is a fellow down in the States somewhere was always going turtle hunting. He could only get one shot off before they all disappeared and they didn't come back for hours. With these sort of silent loads he was getting 5 to 7 shots off before the turtles figured something was up.

These loads can be done in just about any caliber not just the 45-70. With bottle neck cases use pillow filler or something else like that to hold the powder in place. Another very important thing is never use jacketed bullets in these loads.

I'm a fisherman at heart as well and was wandering if you where planning on giving your crats a fighting chance and use barbless or single hooks. I have always felt that the take and then the setting of the hook was always the most exciting part of fishing. I believe I would prefer to hook them in the mouth rather than snag them in the paw. That way they've got all 4 feet to fight you with.
