I would never be this cruel, but my grandmother (God rest her soul) used the following technique:

Live trap.
Hang by its tail in a gentle breeze.
Shoot off limbs, then tail.
Wait for coyote.
Be sure of your backstop.

Start reading the old posts from months back. This is a veritable Encylopedia on crat-whakin. Tuna seems okay, as does any fish based canned cat food. The tuna crat food is quite smelly... Big Grin

jeep,

Sardines work great for bait. and a well placed shot at 300yds will produce some great catarobics. I haven't used a 2506 but that should work nicely.

Live trap a femail in heat .
Set her in a old bird cage on a fence post up wind of the target area .

Within 2 hour every tom in range will have smelled her and come to the bait .

I try to hit 3 areas a night before she goes out of heat 2 - 3 nights

Then she is Yote bait

Spring planting of a catnip patch is considered acceptable practice for attracting wildlife. Excess plants may be harvested at maturity and used as necessary around the neighborhood in your favorite spots. No annoying tuna smells to detract from your summer barbecues and schuetzenfests.

The cats in my yard that like Tuna Suprise Dinner don't live long enough to get addicted.

I have found that crats fare no better from tuna in a live trap than they do with the swimming lessons that sometimes follow. Both are short courses.
