It was storming to beat Hell up here last night.Rain was blowing sideways on the hottest wind I've felt for a while.
Of course, right at that moment,my Windy-Lou Dawg wanted to go outside to do her business. Roll Eyes
I don my fishin' hat and go out back with her.Outta the corner of my eye something ran out from under our patio table making a beeline for the fence.Thru squinted lids I saw it to be the neighbors cat, black and white and soakin wet.The crat and neighbor live down at the end of the street.
Now Windy-Lou is fast enough to catch and kill squills before they can make it up a tree, but she didn't have nothin on the terrified crat.
We got a plastic privacy fence around three sides of our small back yard with the fourth side being a 36" chain link between me and a neighbor.
Said crat made it to the fence with Windy-Lou close enough behind to be chompin' ass hairs. When the crat jumped over the fence one of it's front paws got hung up between the chain link and the top rail. clap
Here I had a crat hung up on the fence, hanging down on the other side with one or two of it's paws sticking thru the chain link towards Windy-Lou.Of course my dawg see's an opening and grabs one the crats hind paws.
Windy-Lou goes 38 pounds and ain't got any fat on her.Shes growling, pulling and shaking her head side to side trying to jerk the crat thru a 2"x2" square hole by one of it's hind legs. Smiler
Now I thought the crat was raising Hell when it got it's front paw hung up,ya shoulda heard the sound it made as Windy-Lou was pulling it thru the fence.Made the hair stand up on my arms. Eeker
The owner of said fence musta heard the screaming and come out w/ an umbrella that wasn't doing him any good.
He was on his side trying to free the crats front paw and I was trying(not real hard)to get my dawg to let go.The neighbor got the front paw loose and the crat swung down, twistin it's hind leg where the dawg held it firm. The noise was turned up another notch. Smiler
Windy-Lou got clawed in her nose and she let go the crat. The mangled crat moved across the neighbors yard crab like.Damndest thing I ever saw.It had two busted up legs opposite of each other.
That's the only time I can remember where I didn't mind getting rained on Smiler
And Windy-lou got an extra treat when we got back into the kitchen. thumb

No doubt PT! I would have been proud of that one myself.
My brindle boxer does not care much for crats, squill, coons, or possums or about anything that comes in the fenced part of the yard other than people. She doesn't get many crats since they know better but possums and coons have yet to figure it out until they cross the fence and she makes a mess of them!
You know a boxer can crush a possum or coon skull with one little bite!

Dam fine there poletax. I just wish we could tell the world about the day to day struggles we all face against the nasty crats.

The crats owner had to have the crat put down.
She thought it had been run over by a car.
I figure the Vet thought it had been 'Drawn and Quartered. Smiler

Yo, invader66. I was suffering from a shortage of cats last year too till I got some ex-rabbit cages and started adopting cats from around the state here, sort of in a multi-catural fashion. Got most of them from the more liberal cities. Pretty soon I had to start an export business to find homes for the nice ones, like the placement at GC II of twenty five all samo, samo. They were multiplying faster than I could make and sell " fried cat skins" barbecue flavor crispy snacks with free beer.
