Jump, Your tail brought back a great boyhood memory. My first whitnessing of the seldom seen "winter fan kill". My brother and I awoke one winter morn to find a gray haired stray that had been hanging around our homested sitting on our front porch swaying to and fro in the style of the dreded "witch doctor cat". Apon closer inspection we noticed it was not a "witch doctor" at all but something ten times as horrible. It was a dreded "Bucket o blood" puddy, as made famious by the man with an ax in his head in the 1950's movie Bucket of Blood. This tabbie had a full on gash perfect center between the ears. As we gasped with horror at the grizley sight(we were very young)my Dad spied the "Bucket". "That's the one that was in your uncle's motor last night when he was leaving. He thought he killed it so he chucked it into the snow bank on the side of the driveway.( Seemes it went in head first and that stoped the bleeding, and, used it's eighth life) We can't have this" Dad said. At that he got his .22 and sent that dreded "Bucket o blooder" to the big pussy patch in the sky. Right in front of us,I might add. Most would think this kind of sight would stay with us for life, and it did! It taught the both of us the value of a "clean kill" at a young age. Aah yes I can remember exactly what my bro said right after we wittnesed this execution style killing by our Dad, he said....."I get to shoot the next one, right Dad?" Those 'crits seem to like sitt'in in a warm engine compartment in the winter...sometimes too close to the dreded "Blade" | ||
