Two days ago, while driving from Ames to Johnston, we passed through an unincorporated part of Des Moines, that is mainly flood plains, driving ranges, woods and timber, when I saw what appeared to be a wolf, hunting mice in corn stubble. He was wolf-sized, darker than the coyotes I've seen, and had a very lupine face and eyes. I'm wondering if he was just a regressive (dog) cross-breed, yet he looked fairly wild. Wondering if any other midwesterners are seeing things like this. | ||
