I was too young to go to Vietnam. 15 years old in 1971. Recruiter just laughed at me and said it was a big goatfuck anyway, just wait and there would be another war bye and bye, bye and bye.
Went into the Army in 1974, jumped out of planes and just sort of fucked around in the 82nd and 12 SFG. A buddy did a tour as a door gunner in a slick gunship. He told me that they rigged up a tape player and patched it into the intercom. Played war protest music as they lit up this and that.
So, fast forward thirty years.
what should we play on our iPods/Walkmans/car CD when we are vaporizing cats???
I have it narrowed down to Townes Van Zandt or the Dixie Chicks for me, but I would love to hear youse all'ins thoughts on the subject....

"The Sickness, by Disturbed",(heavy metal for the heavy barrel!)
Or just about anything from Kid Rock and Skid Row.

Edit: Salute to Derf for the signature!

Nice post lawndart.
Only thing I can comment on is you got something backwards.
You don't listen to the 'Dixie Chicks',ya' shoot at em while listening to Quar.

It is dated perhaps, and the singer is lost to my memory.... "Hellfire", from back in the late 60's. It was excellent music to shoot rockets by....

Another might be "Satisfaction" or "Run thru the Jungle".

Music back then was more to the point.

Then there is always Wagner, perhaps even "The Nutcracker Suite", a light and sweet counterpoint to blood and gore. It makes a nice contrast. Hannibal would appreciate that, don't know if you guys would though.

I can tell after reading all of this that I have missed another cultural revolution. I am wondering if perhaps I should not expand my Quest to include depraved rock groups, agents and record company execs... gunsmile

I was thinking about Warren Zevon's "Excitable Boy" though i think he did a lot of songs good for the occasion.

I like to start up "WIPEOUT" just before pulling the trigger on a coyote or cat.

I love feral cats, they give me a reason to load for higher velocity.
